  • Patent number: 10356673
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, including applying a voice quality model to network performance information associated with a voice over internet protocol call session to generate a measure of voice quality associated with a first wireless radio access network wirelessly coupling a mobile device and a communication network, detecting a trigger condition for a measurement reporting according to the measure of voice quality, a first signal of the first wireless radio access network, and a second signal of a second wireless radio access network, and detecting a trigger condition for a measurement report according to the measure of voice quality, a first signal of the first network, and a second signal of a network. The measurement report can be transmitted to the first wireless radio access network responsive to detecting the trigger condition for the measurement reporting. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10116408
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer including a wavelength selective switch configured to filter wavelengths of an optical signal; and an optical equalizer, coupled to the wavelength selective switch, configured to equalize the optical signal to mitigate optical filtering effects caused by the wavelength selective switch.

  • Patent number: 8873755
Abstract: Wireless devices in proximity are securely paired with one another autonomously by generating a common cryptographic key directly from a time-varying wireless environment shared among the wireless devices. The shared key can be used by the wireless devices to authenticate each wireless device's physical proximity and then to facilitate confidential communication between the wireless devices. The algorithm used to create the shared key is secure against a computationally unbounded adversary and its computational complexity is linear in the size of the shared key.

  • Patent number: 8755499
Abstract: Methods, computer program products, and systems for managing VoIP network elements are provided. Methods include receiving call details records (CDRs) from a plurality of network elements. The received CDRs including disconnect cause codes and telephone call correlation identifiers. The received CDRs are correlated to telephone calls based on the telephone call correlation identifiers. Two CDR records are associated with the same telephone call when their telephone call correlation identifiers are the same. A master correlated CDR is created for each telephone call. The creating includes assigning a correlated disconnect cause code and classifying the telephone call. The assigning and classifying are responsive to the received CDRs associated with the telephone call. The master correlated CDR includes the correlated disconnect cause code and the telephone call classification. A threshold crossing alert (TCA) is generated in response to a threshold for the correlated disconnect cause code being reached.

  • Patent number: 8626759
Abstract: A method and system for searching an information retrieval system for items of interest that are in proximity to geographical locations provided by the user. The information retrieval system can perform a search for specified types of businesses or items of interest that surround or are in close proximity to the user's present geographical location, or a geographical location that the user has pre-configured in a database. The system receives geographical location information concerning the user's position from the wireless network carrier, which tracks the location of the user's mobile communications device. When the user desires to store a geographical location and geographical name for a future search, the information is entered into the pre-configured database. When conducting an information search at a later time, the user can narrow a search request to a geographical area in the vicinity of the stored geographical location.
