Abstract: Methods, systems, and products authenticate users for access to devices, applications, and services. Skills of a user are learned over time, such that an electronic model of random subject matter may be generated. The user is prompted to interpret the random subject matter, such as with a drawing, physical arrangement, or performance. The user's interpretation is then compared to the electronic model of the random subject matter. If the user is truly who they purport to be, their interpretation will match the electronic model, thus authenticating the user. If interpretation fails to match the electronic model, authentication may be denied.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for collecting web data in order to create diverse language models. A system configured to practice the method first crawls, such as via a crawler operating on a computing device, a set of documents in a network of interconnected devices according to a visitation policy, wherein the visitation policy is configured to focus on novelty regions for a current language model built from previous crawling cycles by crawling documents whose vocabulary considered likely to fill gaps in the current language model. A language model from a previous cycle can be used to guide the creation of a language model in the following cycle. The novelty regions can include documents with high perplexity values over the current language model.

Abstract: Map information is exchanged between communication devices. A map of a geographical area is received. The map includes embedded interactive links that graphically represent points of interest within the geographical area. An embedded interactive link that graphically represents at least one point of interest is highlighted within the map. Responsive to selection of another embedded interactive link within the map that graphically represents another point of interest within the geographical area, the other embedded link within the map is highlighted. The map is transmitted, with the other embedded interactive link that graphically represents the other point of interest highlighted.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture are disclosed to identify an Internet protocol address blacklist boundary. An example method includes identifying a netblock associated with a malicious Internet protocol address, the netblock having a lower boundary and an upper boundary, collecting netflow data associated with a plurality of Internet protocol addresses in the netblock, establishing a first window associated with a lower portion of Internet protocol addresses numerically lower than a candidate Internet protocol address, establishing a second window associated with an upper portion of Internet protocol addresses numerically higher than a candidate Internet protocol address, calculating a breakpoint score based on a comparison between a behavioral profile of the first window and a behavioral profile of the second window, and identifying a first sub-netblock when the breakpoint score exceeds a threshold value.

Abstract: A core network device may be configured to work with a radio access network device to determine whether to allow access to a network. Criteria that may be used to make the determination include the condition of devices and links within the core network and the radio access network, which may be determined by data received from other devices at the core network device. In another embodiment, the type of service requested, for example whether the request is for an IMS service or non-IMS service, may be used to evaluate whether the a request for access to the network should be permitted.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a system and method of delivering notifications. The method can include receiving a communication at a server within an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) network, where the communication is directed to a destination device outside of the IPTV network. The method can also include identifying the destination device and associating the destination device with a set-top box device. The method can also include transmitting a notification of the communication to the set-top box device via a private data network within the IPTV network.

Abstract: Many of the current IMS standards and enriched services were originally designed for the individual subscribers that are serviced by the wireless network. However, the IMS standards do not fully address the problem of providing the IMS enriched services and features to users connected to a PBX. The present invention discloses a method for providing IMS enriched services and features to users connected to a PBX or an IP-PBX. Access to network services can be secured through a web-friendly interface via the IMS, enabling third-party developers, service providers and even subscribers to self-manage their service experience while the network operator retains control over network resources.

Abstract: Intelligent radio access control selecting a first cell device of a first cell layer or a second cell device of a second cell layer or selecting a radio access technology for communication by a mobile device are provided. A device receives information indicative of an access assignment for communication. The access assignment is generated based on a defined criterion, which is associated with a policy of determining a cell layer assignment prior to determining a radio access technology (RAT) assignment. In response to receiving the information, the device can update its configuration to transmit via a transmission parameter based on the information. The cell layer assignment can offload traffic from the first cell device to the second cell device while the RAT assignment can re-assign the device from a first RAT to a second RAT. Assignment can be based on network conditions or mobility state or applications of the device.

Abstract: Suggestions for content are based on either designation by or a habit of a user. Favored genres of content are determined at different times of day. Should content be requested at a particular time of day for which no favored genre of content is determined, then one of the known favored genres of content is suggested.

Abstract: One embodiment of a method for determining a username comprises obtaining a digital certificate from a first computer application requesting a service; authenticating the digital certificate of the first computer application; and retrieving the username from the digital certificate that is recognized by a second computer application performing the service as a user of the second computer application. Abstract: An apparatus provides automated assistance to an agent. The apparatus includes a receiver that receives a client communication from a client terminal via a network. A processor processes the client communication and determines a plurality of agent statements based on the client communication. The plurality of agent statements is displayed on a display. An input receives an agent communication from the agent. The agent communication is selected from a custom statement input by the agent and one of the plurality of agent statements selected by the agent. A transmitter transmits the agent communication to the client terminal via the network.

Abstract: A communication is supplemented. An initiated communication directed to a unique communication destination address assigned to a receiving party is received from the receiving party. Before the initiating party is provided access to a final communication destination for the communication, providing to the initiating party at least one selectable option, receiving from the initiating party a selected option from the at least one selectable option, and supplementing the communication based on the selected option. Only after supplementing the communication based on the selected option is the initiating party provided with access to the final communication destination.

Abstract: Disclosed are method and apparatus for displaying supplementary information on a graphical user interface. A request for supplementary information is received. The supplementary information is retrieved and displayed in a reserved display field in a graphical user interface. The reserved display field may be configured by a user to adapt to specific applications, but remains stationary throughout the user session. The reserved display field does not obstruct any other display fields in the graphical user interface. A request for supplementary information may be generated by using a mouse to first position a cursor over an active display element. A request for supplementary information associated with the active display element may be generated by clicking the mouse, or by holding the cursor stationary for a time interval greater than a threshold dwell time.

Abstract: Mobile devices, systems and methods are described with a plurality of virtual machines, wherein each virtual machine executes a separate virtual interface, or guest operating system. Each guest operating system corresponds to a different virtual device having its own contact list, applications, and so on. A virtual “device” can be controlled by an employer or service provider, and is a secure space that provides authenticated applications that are walled off from another virtual device. A host operating system provides a hardware abstraction layer. A proxy server on the host operating system receives an incoming signal from a remote device on the external network, and routes the incoming signal to one of the first and second virtual machines based on a call context. A method and computer program product for providing a plurality of virtual interfaces on a mobile device are also disclosed.

Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to generate relevance rankings for use by a program selector of a media presentation system are disclosed. An example method comprises tabulating a plurality of occurrence counts for respective ones of a plurality of terms of a program guide, each of the occurrence counts indicating a corresponding number of times each of the terms appears in the program guide, computing a plurality of relevance ranking scores for respective ones of a plurality of programs listed in the program guide based on the plurality of occurrence counts, selecting a list of programs from the program guide based on the relevance ranking scores, and outputting the list of programs.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods present a graphics based electronic programming guide (EPG) that organizes available content in radial fashion on a display. Which content appears on a screen shot of the EPG may be determined using rating data, user preferences or collaborative filtering. Through collaborative filtering, disclosed embodiments may predict which programs a user may like according to group member ratings. Some disclosed EPGs include a mosaic with graphical indications of an overall rating and graphical indications of which of a plurality of characteristics (e.g., genres) apply to multimedia programs.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and products passively generate electrical energy from waste heat. Electronic components in cabinets generate waste heat that is used to illuminate an interior of a cabinet. A thermovoltaic semiconductor detects a temperature differential between a pair of terminals installed in the cabinet. The thermovoltaic semiconductor generates a low voltage output in response to the temperature differential. A power supply receives the low voltage output and produces a higher voltage for low-wattage light sources installed in the cabinet.

Abstract: A method of increasing resolution of an image includes generating vector contours associated with a first image and scaling the vector contours to a second resolution. The first image has a first resolution, and the second resolution is greater than the first resolution. The vector contours are rendered to generate a guiding image at the second resolution, and a second image is generated from the first image based on the guiding image, by using joint upsampling. The second image is generated at the second resolution. The vector contours can be generated by bitmap tracing binary images at different quantization levels. An apparatus and computer readable device implementing the method of increasing the resolution of an image are also provided.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for IPv6 based multicast are disclosed. An example method includes broadcasting a multicast group address advertisement instructing a recipient device to join an Internet Protocol multicast group, the Internet Protocol multicast group being associated with a physical attribute of the recipient device; and broadcasting a multicast message to the multicast address instructing the members of the multicast group to perform an action.
