    Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for screening and selectively blocking private calls. A processor executing instructions associated with a private call blocking service can detect a call from a calling device directed to a called device. The processor can determine that the call has a caller identification blocking marker indicating that a fixed label should be provided to the called device to prevent the called device from presenting caller identification data associated with the calling device. In response to determining that the call has the caller identification blocking marker, the processor can obtain a custom private caller identification mask instead of the fixed label. The processor can provide the custom private caller identification mask to the called device for the call, where the custom private caller identification mask can be presented to a called party associated with the called device without revealing the caller identification data.

Instead of configuring the UE with a fixed number of codewords for all the channel conditions, the network can change the number of codewords dynamically or semi-statically. The network can determine the number of codewords based on measurements and recommendations from the UE. Alternatively, the network can determine the number of codewords on its own.

Generally, the embodiments disclosed herein involve masking the information bits of the group common PDCCH (or group common control channel information) with the common RNTI, without using parity bits, which reduces the power requirements of the transmitter and receiver. In a first embodiment, the information block and the common RNTI can each be encoded using separate encoders, and then the encoded information block can be masked with the encoded common RNTI, and the resulting code symbol can be transmitted to the group of mobile devices. In a second embodiment, an information block can be appended with bits to match a size of the common RNTI, and then be masked by the common RNTI.

In one aspect, integrated access front-haul nodes (IAFHNs) that are utilized for mmWave transmissions at a second (and/or subsequent) hop can be deployed with self aligning receivers. Further, the IAFHNs can facilitate adaptive resource allocation scheduling in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) chain. In addition, an interface between macro access points can be enhanced to enable the adaptive resource allocation on the IAB chain. In one aspect, a fixed user equipment (UE) can be configured with dual connectivity (DC) and a network operator can offer different tiers of services based on a location of the UE.
