Patent number: 11539645Abstract: A cloud based mobile internet protocol messaging spam defense. Short message service (SMS) messages are analyzed by a cloud based virtual machine to determine if should be considered potentially unwanted messages (e.g., spam). The cloud based virtual machine uses a user specific algorithm for determining if a message should be considered to be a potentially unwanted message. Messages that are determined to be potentially unwanted messages trigger a notification to be sent to a user device associated with the virtual machine. The notification requests confirmation from the user that the potentially unwanted message is an unwanted message. The user's response to a request for confirmation is then used to update an unwanted message database associated with the user and the user device.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Ann E. Patent number: 11539836Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to modeling radio wave propagation in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include, facilitating, by a first device, receiving a first communication directed to a second device from a third device associated with a first telephone number. The method can further include determining, by the first device, that the first communication comprises a reference to a second telephone number different from the first telephone number, resulting in a number discrepancy. Further, based on the number discrepancy and an analysis of the first communication, the method can further include preventing, by the first device, communication of the first communication to the third device.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Howard Lang, Joseph Soryal

Patent number: 11540186Abstract: When frequency range 1 (FR1) (e.g., Sub6 Ghz radio coverage), and FR2 (e.g., mmW coverage) are present in a given area, there can be a broader coverage from FR1 broadcasting in addition to targeted coverage from FR2 broadcasting. Consequently, FR1 can overlap FR2. To generate system efficiencies, the FR1 and FR2 spectrums can be combined by carrier aggregation (CA) and/or dual connectivity (DC). Thus, a hybrid approach can combine use of both CA and DC, based on radio access network instructions and radio frequency conditions experienced by a user equipment device as it transitions between CA and DC coverage areas.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignees: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P., AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Yonghui Tong, Kurt Huber, Hongyan Lei, Yupeng Jia

Patent number: 11539434Abstract: A dark fiber dense wavelength division multiplexing service path design microservice (ddSPDmS) can provide a scalable self-contained meta-data driven approach for a flexible implementation of a dark fiber dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) service path design solution. The service plan design solution can be used as a standalone solution or integrated with a network management application. In order to manage a large volume of circuit designs, multiple microservices can accept application program interface (API) requests in a cloud environment. Permission can then be given to any application to use the API to make a call to the design and inventory. Additionally, metadata templates can be designed to support a node, a link, and/or a topology for the microservices.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Seyed Hashemi, Fariborz Farhan, Kumar Tamilmoni, Michael O'Connor, Taha Elkhatib, Wei Yen, Brian Horen, Veronica Gensamer

Patent number: 11539658Abstract: One or more protocols between a control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME)) and its peer nodes (e.g., mobile switching center (MSC) and/or short message service center (SMSC)) are enhanced to improve short messaging services for Internet of things (IoT) devices. Oftentimes, IoT devices enter an extended sleep mode during which they cannot be reached by the control plane entity. In one aspect, the control plane entity can determine a wait period based on information, such as, but not limited to, device context data, mapping tables, policy data, commercial traffic data, latency data, device delay tolerance, sleep mode timer values, etc. The wait period can be provided to the peer nodes, which can utilize the wait period to control one or more message retry mechanisms based on IoT device behaviors resulting in an improvement of overall IoT service behaviors and a delivery of superior IoT customer experience.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Rajendra Prasad Kodaypak, Gaurav Gupta

Patent number: 11540330Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards associating a distributed unit (a baseband function) with a radio unit, corresponding to a service area, when the radio unit transitions from an idle state to an active state with respect to serving user equipment. When an idle radio unit receives a message requesting connection from a formerly idle user equipment, or user equipment to be served due to a handover, the message triggers assignment of a distributed unit to the radio unit, whereby the radio unit becomes active to serve the user equipment. If insufficient distributed unit capacity exists, a new distributed unit is dynamically instantiated and assigned to the radio unit. When a radio unit transitions from active to idle, the radio unit is disassociated from the distributed unit. If a distributed unit is not associated with any radio unit, the distributed unit is deactivated to reduce resource consumption.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 2020Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Aleksandr Zelezniak, Minsung Jang, Kaustubh Joshi, Xuan Tuyen Tran

Patent number: 11539815Abstract: A method for managing systems with interrelated microservices with self-assembling and self-configuring microservices includes receiving at a first micro service a service request from a client. A determination is the made whether the first micro service is capable of processing the service request. If the first micro service is capable of processing the service requests, then processing the service request; if the first micro service cannot process the service request then routing the service request to a first stem service. The first stem service determines whether there is a second micro service that can process the service request. If the second micro service that can process the service requests exists, then forwarding the service request to the second micro service for processing. If there is no second micro service that can service the service requests then morphing the first stem service into a micro service that can service the service request.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2021Date of Patent: December 27, 2022Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Mohammad Nikain, Jiyuan Wang, Abdelmajid Belhareth, Daniel Connolly
