  • Patent number: 10373485
Abstract: An ultrasonic source controlled by a controller to cause the ultrasonic source to emit one or more sound pulses in a direction of a surface in order to obtain one or more reflected sound pulses that are used to determine one or more properties of the surface. The ultrasonic source receives one or more control signals based on the one or more properties of the surface that are determined. Further, the ultrasonic source emits one or more ultrasonic sound waves in the direction of the surface based upon the one or more control signals. The one or more ultrasonic sound waves exert a force which causes visible particles to move to modify an opacity of the surface.

  • Patent number: 10374762
Abstract: Utilization of unused bandwidth or underused bandwidth via radio access resource sharing is disclosed. Unused bandwidth for a physical channel between a network device and a MU MIMO access point can be combined with bandwidth from another physical channel into a logical channel. The logical channel can have increased bandwidth over the constituent physical channels. Whereas MU MIMO technology can facilitate concurrent data transfer, a UE can communicate data across the several physical channels of the logical channel concurrently. Moreover, the different access point locations can provide spatial diversity such that the plurality of access points can function as a logical MU MIMO access point employing interference to selectively serve a UE location via the logical channel. Logical channels can also be predicted based on supplementary information that can comprise historical network resource usage and/or utilization data.

  • Patent number: 10372478
Abstract: Concepts and technologies are disclosed herein for using diversity to provide redundancy of virtual machines. A server computer that executes an orchestrator application can receive a virtual machine instantiation request. The server computer can analyze the request to determine needs associated with a virtual machine (including a redundancy requirement). The server computer can obtain resource availability data that indicates availability of resources and includes diversity data used to provide diversity-based redundancy of the virtual machine. The server computer can identify a pool of resources and identify, among the pool, two or more resources. The two or more resources can include a most diverse group of resources of the pool of resources and can be identified based upon the diversity data. The server computer can trigger instantiation of the virtual machine and a copy of the virtual machine on the resources.

Non-macro radio access network (RAN) devices can be comprised in a network connected to a macro RAN device via a gateway RAN device. The gateway RAN device can be connected to a field RAN device via an intermediate RAN device. A state of a field RAN device can be altered based on a criterion. In an embodiment the criterion can be use of the hierarchical class of the RAN device, e.g., a field class RAN device, by an active or idle UE. In an embodiment the criterion can be use, by an active or idle UE, of another RAN device that is a logical neighbor to the field RAN device. Altering the state can result in a power savings or improved interference characteristics of the network.

  • Patent number: 10373453
Abstract: Personalized notifications of security events are sent. When an alarm condition is determined, a remote notification address may be retrieved. Personalized text may also be retrieved that describes the alarm condition. A notification message may thus be sent to the remote notification address, with the personalized text describing the alarm condition in a user's own words. The personalized text may then be converted to speech, thus providing an audible announcement of the alarm condition.

  • Patent number: 10375112
Abstract: A system for decrypts encrypted Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) data from packet traces without using private keys or a proxy. Decryption of encrypted SSL data is accomplished by intercepting a session key associated with a communication session transmitted from a user device to a server during handshaking between the user device and the server. The session key is then used to decrypt packet level traces of the communication session. The decrypted packet level traces are then used to measure traffic.
