Patents Assigned to AT&T Intelletual Property I, L.P.
  • Patent number: 10833743
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, coupler having an array of dielectric antennas positioned around an outer surface of a transmission medium. A processing system can perform operations including selecting at least two dielectric antennas of the array of dielectric antennas, and configuring at least two transmitters coupled to the at least two dielectric antennas according to a wave mode type to generate, via the at least two dielectric antennas, first wireless signals and second wireless signals that combine to induce propagation of electromagnetic waves along a transmission medium according to the wave mode type without requiring an electrical return path. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10832263
Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to aspects of customer service based upon in-store field-of-view and analytics. According to one aspect disclosed herein, a store analytics system can collect user information associated with a plurality of users located within an environment. The store analytics system also can collect user device information associated with a plurality of user devices associated with the plurality of users. The store analytics system also can collect estimated fields-of-view associated with the plurality of users. The store analytics system can analyze the user information, the user device information, and the estimated fields-of-view to identify at least one commonality shared among at least two of the plurality of users. The store analytics system can create a logical group. The logical group can include the at least two users of the plurality of users that share the commonality.

  • Patent number: 9068881
Abstract: Operational parameters of a single-photon detector are determined with a continuous wave laser source. At a fixed trigger, a dark count probability and a series of count probabilities at different optical powers are determined. A particular optical power is selected by using a wide-range variable attenuator to attenuate the optical power of the continuous wave laser. The dark count probability and the count probabilities are determined for different trigger rates. The operational parameters include efficiency, afterpulsing constant, and detrap time. The operational parameters are computed by fitting the computed dark count probabilities and count probabilities to a user-defined relationship.

  • Patent number: 8923919
Abstract: A method and system for interactive home monitoring includes detecting a visitor arriving at a premises of a multimedia content distribution network (MCDN) client by an intercom unit installed at the premises. The intercom unit may be coupled to the MCDN client, which may be configured to wirelessly communicate with a user of the MCDN client. A captured image of the visitor may be used to determine if an identity of the visitor is known or unknown. Based on the identity, a communication channel between the visitor and the user may be established at the intercom unit. The intercom unit may further be configured to provide further information to the visitor based on the visitor identity.

  • Patent number: 8879545
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to route a communication session directly to a voicemail mailbox are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a communication session initiation message from a caller at a source telephone number, the communication session initiation message including a destination telephone number and a direct voicemail feature identifier, determining that the direct voicemail feature identifier indicates that the caller requests that the call be sent to a voicemail mailbox associated with the destination telephone number, and forwarding the call directly to the voicemail mailbox associated with the destination telephone number without ringing the destination telephone number.

  • Patent number: 8611213
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to an architecture that can opportunistically leverage existing periods of inactivity or low activity for sending data at virtually no marginal cost. In particular, the architecture can receive data that is to be transmitted over a communications network. The data can be examined to determine whether or not the data is delay-tolerant. If so, then such data can be stored to a staging queue. The data can then be transmitted at a later time, particularly during a high-energy state facilitated by a different data transaction, but for which there are inactive or low-activity times.

  • Patent number: 7487224
Abstract: The present invention utilizes central offices, located on the edge of a network to route requests along the edge of the network. Once an edge client receives a request for information, the edge client makes a determination as to whether the edge client can provide the information requested. If the edge client cannot provide the information requested, then the edge client determines whether a routing instruction applies which specifies a second edge client. If the routing instruction applies, then the request is routed to the second edge client.
