Abstract: Doppler metric data relating to a speed of a mobile device can be used by the mobile device to determine whether a speed threshold has been satisfied. If the speed threshold has been satisfied, then the mobile device can make a recommendation to a network node device to terminate closed-loop multiple input multiple output transmissions and to use a rank-1 precoder transmission. The network device can then decide how to proceed. Alternatively, the network device can change the transmission type based on a load threshold being determined to have been satisfied and the recommendation from the mobile device.
