Abstract: The claimed subject matter relates to an architecture that can provide substantially lossless compression and subsequent decompression of messages at an application level. In particular, the architecture, in one aspect thereof, can receive a set of messages. When application data for received messages does not match stored message, the message can be stored to a buffer. In contrast, if application data matches that for a stored message, the received message can be discarded and a message count incremented. The compressed message pattern can include the stored message and the message count. Upon decompression, the number of messages received can be identified by the message count and the application data can be readily recreated for all messages by copying that data. Non-application data, such as time stamp information can be reconstructed based upon a buffer period, other timing offset data, or other data fields included in the message pattern.

The system includes but is not limited to a processor in data communication with a computer readable medium and a computer program comprising instructions embedded in the computer readable medium, the computer program further comprising instructions to detect first event data at a first controllable device in an internet protocol television system; instructions to send second event data over the electrical power line to a second controllable device in the internet protocol television system from the first controllable device in response to the detecting the first event data at the first controllable device; and instructions to receive video data concurrently at a first internet protocol television client device over the electrical power line from the first and second controllable devices in response to the detecting the first event data at the first controllable device.

Abstract: System(s) and method(s) are provided for a femto cell service framework for registration, activation, and provisioning of femtocell service. An account management service enables femtocell account creation, and registration thereof. Registration includes validation of wireless coverage for a location of operation of a femto AP, and validation of availability enhanced 911 (E911) service. As part of registration provisioning, record(s) are updated to indicate registration status. Connection of femto AP to a network interface triggers activation process; the femto AP delivers an activation request. A femto network validates registration of the connected femto AP and conducts a location tolerance check of a received actual location of the femto AP and a registered location. Upon tolerance validation, a cell identifier and radio frequency channel(s) are assigned to femto AP. When femto AP radiates wireless signal, network activation status indicators are provisioned.

Abstract: A service for presenting billing information to a customer according to a hierarchal structure defined by the customer. The customer assigns telephone numbers to company units and defines how each of the units relate to each other in the hierarchal structure. The billing information associated with each assigned telephone number is processed in accordance with the hierarchal structure. Thereafter, the bill is presented to the customer.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a physical location of a customer of a network service, e.g., a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service are disclosed. For example, the method receives a network communications protocol message containing a geographical coordinate data from a Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) device being used by a customer for accessing one or more services. The method retrieves the geographical coordinate data from the network communications protocol message and provides the one or more services to the customer using the geographical coordinate data. In an alternate embodiment, a method and apparatus for sending physical location information are disclosed.

Abstract: A method of balancing computer resources on a network of computers is provided employing a two-tier network architecture of at least one High Level Collector as a scheduler/load balancing server, and a plurality Low level Collectors which gather task data and execute instructions. Tasks are assigned priority and weight scores and sorted prior to assignment to Low Level Collectors. Also provided is a computer readable medium including instructions, wherein execution of the instructions by at least one computing device balances computer resources on a network of computers.

Abstract: A method of aiding creation of a service offer associated with a Service Delivery Framework (SDF) includes providing a plurality of reusable Application Objects (AOs) that may be associated with an Interactive Development Environment (IDE). The AOs are prototype customer facing service offers that include standardized functions supporting ordering, billing, management and monitoring. The AOs also include standardized event formats and configurable attributes that affect the behavior and pricing of service offers derived from the AOs. A Services Marketplace facilitates reuse of AOs and supports relationships between customers, application creators, service providers and OSS/BSS providers. A computer-readable medium includes instructions that when executed by a computing device aids in creation of a service offer associated with a SDF by providing a plurality of reusable Application Objects (AOs) in the context of a services marketplace.

Abstract: The preferred embodiments of the present invention are directed to a network tracing engine for tracing and depicting a topology (i.e. a network configuration) of a network using, for example, a network diagram. The network tracing engine preferably queries/telnets to interfaces of routers associated with one or more source-to-destination paths in a network concurrently and independently to ensure proper configuration of the routers and/or to generate a true depiction of a routing configuration without redundantly querying routers.

Abstract: A system and method directed to diagnosing a problem associated with a route group in a network are disclosed. A problem associated with a route group is diagnosed by comparing inventory information associated with a route group to current route information associated with a router, where the router is associated with the route group. The process followed for diagnosing a problem associated with a route group depends on whether there is a mismatch between the inventory route information and the current route information.

Abstract: A service provider unit automatically diagnoses problems in an Ethernet network that are associated with layers 1, 2, and/or 3 and determines whether there is a problem associated with an Ethernet gateway switch EGS. Further diagnostics can be performed to determine the layer, type, and/or location of the problem(s) based on whether there is a problem with the EGS. The diagnostic process followed depends on the types of problem(s) in the network. Once the problems have been diagnosed, an operator can be notified of the location and/or type of problem.

Abstract: A method and system enable optimization of trunk group design in a public switched telephone network (PSTN). A community of interest, including two end offices connected by a direct trunk and at least one tandem switch, is identified using out-of band signaling data collected from the PSTN. An application server interfaced to the PSTN determines whether traffic in the community of interest passes through the tandem switch during a predetermined time period. When traffic passes through the tandem switch, the application server further determines whether the direct trunk between the end offices experienced an overflow condition during the same predetermined time period. When the direct trunk did not experience an overflow condition, an exchange code associated with the traffic passing through the tandem switch is designated as a misrouted code. The misrouted code is flagged so that associated traffic is redirected through the direct trunk.

A query based on a request from a communications device to access the network connection data is received over a first network.
