The controller can direct a communication device requesting wireless access to another WiMAX base station upon determining that granting wireless access to the communication device reduces an operating performance of the WiMAX base station below its operating threshold. A mobile base system determines its location and checks the operating parameters of the transceiver in the mobile base station against a database to determine whether the regulatory requirements have changed because of its location and to effect such a change. The mobile base station may alter the operating parameters of the transceiver in order to comply with regulatory requirements.

The method includes generating a media database by processing each of a plurality of programs. The steps of the method include extracting a subtitle track from each of the programs, retrieving at least one frame associated with the subtitle track, adding metadata to the extracted subtitle track and at least one frame, processing the subtitle track, program statistics and at least one frame in a media database. Another aspect includes receiving a user query associated with dialog in a program, searching the media database and presenting a listing of results, receiving a user selection or program from their listing and transmitting at least one frame, a portion of associated subtitle track and prompts for ordering the program.

Abstract: A system and method for establishing communications between packet-switched networks is disclosed. A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a communication device having a controller element to transmit a packet along a logical tunnel established through an Internet Service Provider (ISP) network. The packet is encoded with a Virtual Circuit (VC) label by a local Ethernet network operating independent from the ISP network. The VC-label of the encoded packet is substantially undetectable by one or more network elements of the ISP network while in route through the logical tunnel. Additional embodiments are disclosed.

Abstract: Providing for detection of a missed mobile paging event, storing data associated with an initiating mobile device as a result of such event, and updating an undelivered call indicator (UDCI) for notification of at least an undelivered call count is described herein. Components can include a gateway routing component that can receive a communications request for a target mobile device, a data storage component that can store information related to an initiating mobile device where the target is deemed unavailable, and a UDCI component facilitating data aggregation related to the undelivered call count. The UDCI data can be selectively provided to independent of the stored information related to an initiating mobile device. The system can thus notify a user of the presence and count of stored information related to initiating mobile devices independent of the user's prior unavailability.
