Publication number: 20250063393Abstract: Excessive signaling by devices against a radio access network (RAN) can be detected and mitigated. A security management component (SMC) can determine whether a total number of control signals received by a base station from devices satisfies a threshold total number of control signals indicative of excessive signaling. If so, SMC can identify a device associated with the base station based on analyzing communication conditions associated with the device. SMC can determine whether to classify the device as an excessive signaling device based on whether the number of control signals received from the device by the base station satisfies a threshold number of control signals indicative of excessive signaling. If so, SMC can determine the device is an excessive signaling device. In response, SMC can perform or facilitate performing a mitigation action to mitigate excessive signaling or can generate statistics relating to the excessive signaling.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 6, 2024Publication date: February 20, 2025Applicant: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventor: YARON KORAL

Patent number: 12231962Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for optimizing layer assignment based on a total QCI value associated with a UE when the UE falls back from a first wireless access technology to a second wireless access technology, such as from 5G to LTE. QCI values and/or one or more applications running on a UE are monitored to determined when a threshold is met. The UE may receive or initiate a voice call, and at this point, the UE may fallback to LTE from 5G. The network may determine that the UE should fallback to an LTE layer having the highest bandwidth to support the high total QCI value and the high number of applications running on the UE.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2021Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: T-MOBILE INNOVATIONS LLCInventors: Roopesh Kumar Polaganga, Sreekar Marupaduga

Patent number: 12231882Abstract: The disclosed system obtains an international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) range of multiple UEs operating on a first network. The system obtains a subscription profile and authentication credentials of a UE among the multiple UEs. The system stores the IMSI range, a first subscription profile, and the authentication credentials in a second database of a second network. The second network provides connectivity to the UE when the UE is outside the limited geographical range of the first network. The system receives a request from the UE to connect to the second network when the UE is outside the limited geographical range. The system reduces network traffic by authenticating the UE using the authentication credentials stored in the second database and determining that the service is authorized to be provided to the UE based on the subscription profile stored in the second database without communicating with the first network. Upon authenticating the UE, the system provides the service to the UE.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2022Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: T-Mobile USA, Inc.Inventor: Mehul Shah

Patent number: 12231958Abstract: Adaptable resiliency for a virtualized radio access network (vRAN) framework is disclosed. A resiliency management component can determine vRAN topological adaptations that can reflect resiliency requirements of service instance(s). Accordingly, sufficient redundant vRAN components to satisfy the resiliency requirements can be deployed. However, unlike conventional redundancy techniques that can determine a highest level of redundancy and then apply that relative to all supported services, the disclosed subject matter can avoid over-deploying redundant vRAN components, e.g., redundant components exceeding the resiliency requirement of a service instance, resulting in lowered monetary and non-monetary costs to maintain a vRAN. Moreover, as the services change, the topology of the vRAN can be automatically adapted to purge excessive redundancies, add newly required redundancies, etc., which can facilitate propagating an adequate but lean vRAN topology that is sufficiently resilient.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2022Date of Patent: February 18, 2025Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Zhi Cui, Xiaowen Mang
