Patent number: 10484904Abstract: Automated control of simulcast ratios based on network traffic data provides efficient network capacity management. In one aspect, a remote switching matrix can be utilized at a venue to couple remote transceiver units (RTUs) with different antenna ports, for example, of one or more multi-beam antennas deployed at the venue. A simulcast ratio that can be utilized to support traffic demand at the venue can be determined and implemented by creating dynamic connections between the RTUs and the antenna ports. In one aspect, the simulcast ratio can be modified based on changes in network traffic at the venue that are monitored via self-organizing network devices. In addition, one or more antenna beams of the multi-beam antennas are remotely steered or rotated based on a location of the traffic.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 2018Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventor: Gary Edward Chow

Patent number: 10484063Abstract: A split radio access network is provided that efficiently transmits beamforming coefficients from a distributed baseband unit device to a remote radio unit device to facilitate beamforming at the remote radio unit. The beamforming coefficients can be determined at the baseband unit device and transmitted along with the data to be beamformed to the remote radio unit device. Due to the large number of antenna ports however, there can still be a very large number of coefficients to transmit, and the disclosure provides for a compressed set of coefficients that reduces the overhead signaling requirements. Instead of sending coefficients for every kth antenna port, the system can select a subset of the coefficients corresponding to a set of k antenna ports which can be used by the remote radio unit to approximate the full set of beamforming coefficients.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2018Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Aditya Chopra, Arunabha Ghosh, Milap Majmundar, SaiRamesh Nammi

Patent number: 10484873Abstract: A method is disclosed for blocking a cloned mobile device by a processor of a network. The processor receives a first registration from a first mobile device at a first location. The first registration includes a device identifier and a phone number. The processor then confirms that a second registration from a second mobile device at a second location includes the device identifier and the phone number and calculates a first fraud score for the first mobile device and a second fraud score for the second mobile device. The processor then determines that the second mobile device is the cloned mobile device, when the second fraud score exceeds the first score, and blocks the cloned mobile device from registering on the network.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2019Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignees: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P., AT&T Mobility II, LLCInventors: Sheldon Kent Meredith, William Cottrill, Brandon B. Patent number: 10484350Abstract: Concepts and technologies disclosed herein are directed to privacy-preserving location corroborations. According to one aspect, a localized corroborator system can receive a message digest from a user device. The message digest can be generated by the user device using a cryptographic hash function based upon bitwise XOR of a user identifier and a location proof identifier. The location proof identifier can uniquely identify a location proof to be created by the system. The system can concatenate a corroborator identifier, a location, a time, and the message digest to create a concatenated message. The system can sign the concatenate message using a private key to create the location proof and can send the corroborator identifier and the location proof to the user device. The user device can use the location proof to prove that the user was located at the location at the time.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 2017Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventor: Yaron Kanza

Patent number: 10484993Abstract: A distributed antenna system is provided that frequency shifts the output of one or more microcells to a 60 GHz or higher frequency range for transmission to a set of distributed antennas. The cellular band outputs of these microcell base station devices are used to modulate a 60 GHz (or higher) carrier wave, yielding a group of subcarriers on the 60 GHz carrier wave. This group will then be transmitted in the air via analog microwave RF unit, after which it can be repeated or radiated to the surrounding area. The repeaters amplify the signal and resend it on the air again toward the next repeater. In places where a microcell is required, the 60 GHz signal is shifted in frequency back to its original frequency (e.g., the 1.9 GHz cellular band) and radiated locally to nearby mobile devices.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 2018Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Farhad Barzegar, Donald J. Publication number: 20190349275Abstract: An open-loop control assistance (“OLCA”) system can collect data, correlate and aggregate the data, and perform multi-dimensional analytics on the correlated and aggregated data. The OLCA system can then determine plurality of viable options for a next action to be taken by an operator in an open-loop control process, and can determine a specific option as an optimal choice for the operator to select. The OLCA system can present the plurality of viable options and a rationale explaining why the operator should select the specific option. The OLCA system can capture action(s) taken by the operator, and if the action does not correspond to the recommended action, the OLCA system can capture a reason regarding why the optimal choice was not selected.
