Patent number: 10519684Abstract: A technique for reinforcing a telecommunication tower includes attaching a temporary structure to a vertical portion of the tower, transferring antenna equipment from the vertical portion of the tower to the temporary structure, and reinforcing the vertical portion of the tower while the transferred antenna equipment continues to operate. Once the vertical portion of the tower has been reinforced, the antenna equipment is transferred from the temporary structure back to the vertical portion of the tower. The temporary structure may then be moved to any other vertical portion of the tower, where the above acts may be repeated.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2018Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: ATC IP LLCInventors: Diego Michi, Heriberto Puga, Iván Rubio, Jaime Gómez, José Tlaxcala, Karina Cortés, Marco Velázquez, Miguel Soto, Saraí Bernal

Patent number: 8745933Abstract: A reinforcing system for a guy anchor used in a guyed or additionally guyed tower includes a concrete structure formed around the guy anchor. The concrete structure has a top surface slightly above grade level. The reinforcing system further includes a supplemental anchor shaft. The supplemental anchor shaft is attached to the existing anchor head and extends down into the concrete structure, where it is retained and encased therein. The concrete structure preferably has a base and at least one wall that extends down from the base and has a surface that faces the tower to resist horizontal forces. The reinforcing system is sufficiently strong to keep the guy anchor in place even if the original anchor shaft completely corrodes. The supplemental anchor shaft does not generally come into contact with soil. It therefore resists corrosion and is expected to provide a long service life.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2013Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: ATC IP LLCInventors: Jaime Reyes, Hanming You

Patent number: 8578665Abstract: A modular guy anchor includes an anchor head and an anchor shaft. The anchor head includes a tubular region for receiving the anchor shaft. The anchor shaft has one end that extends into or through the tubular region and is retained therein. The anchor shaft is preferably galvanized steel coated over at least a portion of its length with a corrosion-resistant material. The corrosion-resistant material is preferably applied over any portion of the anchor shaft that is exposed to soil during normal use. The modularity of the guy anchor facilitates stocking, shipping, and installation, while the corrosion resistance of the anchor shaft promotes longevity.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2013Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: ATC IP LLCInventors: Jaime Reyes, Hanming You, Hernando Artista

Patent number: 8528298Abstract: A reinforcement system made of steel members, (eg. steel reinforcing rods, threaded rods or functionally equivalent steel member), closely positioned with respect to, or positioned in contact with the exterior of straight tapered and/or pipe/stepped poles, such as wireless telecommunication poles. The method of use results in providing additional strength to the poles to enhance resistance against deflection caused by, for instance, wind forces and/or added weight resulting from mounting antennas thereto, thereby enabling the placement of, for instance, more antenna arrays and other communication antennas thereon is otherwise possible.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2012Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: ATC IP LLCInventors: Robert I.
