Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and skills assessment tool for managing a testing session in a clinical skills testing center comprising a plurality of assessment stations. The method according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention includes configuring the plurality of assessment stations by associating each of the stations with a case type prior to the beginning of the testing session, receiving electronic identification of a student at one of a plurality of assessment stations prior to the student commencing an encounter at the one assessment station during the testing session, and, in response to receiving the student's identification, automatically assigning the student to the one assessment station for the encounter, where the encounter corresponds with the case type associated with the one assessment station.

Abstract: A system and system are provided for providing synchronous multimedia recording and playback. Aspects the exemplary embodiment include in response to a training session is being conducted, synchronously recording in real-time simulator data from a simulator captured by a simulator capture tool, and video of the training session captured by a plurality of A/V sources; encoding each of the videos captured by the plurality of A/V sources as respective digital media files formatted as streaming media; and transmitting both the simulator data and the video media files from a server to a client over a network, such that when the client receives the simulator data and the stream, the respective videos are synchronously played back with the simulator data on the client.
Abstract: An improved skills assessment tool hosted by a server downloads a checklist builder to a client as software component. When the software component is executed, a checklist builder interface is displayed through a browser at the client. A user creates checklist data through the checklist builder interface, which provides a WYSIWYG environment. Checklist data is stored locally and sent to the server in a single request. When a completed checklist is submitted to the skills assessment tool, the selected answers are stored without scoring. The scoring occurs during report generation by the reporting tool of the skills assessment tool. The reporting tool is integrated with the checklist builder, so that a user may be returned to the checklist builder interface at the client to modify question parameters for any question in the checklist. The selected answers are rescored and the category filters reapplied, and the report is generated.
