Patents Assigned to Atlantis Plastics, Inc.
  • Patent number: 7698864
Abstract: A polymer siding panel for mounting on a wall surface that in one embodiment includes at least two horizontal adjacent sections and a plurality of decorative elements integrally formed with the said panel and disposed in at least one row. The panel may also include an upwardly facing channel formed on a rear side of the siding panel opposite the front face; and at least two splicing members. The splicing members may be transparent or translucent and manufactured from a polymer that is the same or different than the polymer of the siding panel, and one of the splicing members may be welded to and joining the sections to one another. The other splicing member can be welded to one of the sections at a side edge opposite the side edge adjoining the other section. The other splicing member may extend beyond the respective side edge.

  • Patent number: 7240461
Abstract: Siding panels for mounting on a wall surface. Each siding panel includes a plurality of decorative elements integrally formed with the panel and disposed in at least one row, the decorative elements defining a front face of the siding panel; a top edge disposed above the decorative elements; a plurality of apertures formed in and extending through the siding panel disposed below the top edge and above the decorative elements; a bottom end; a plurality of downwardly depending tabs located on the front face of the siding panel, each tab having a plurality of projections; and an upwardly facing channel formed on a side of the siding panel opposite the front face, the channel configured for receipt of the tabs of an adjacent panel. In one embodiment, there are four rounded projections on each tab. The siding panel includes first and second side edges, and a horizontally extending tab.

  • Patent number: 6336303
Abstract: A siding panel and two methods of installing a wall covering made from injection molded materials and having positioning relief to facilitate installation. The siding panel includes a plurality of decorative elements formed with a top edge disposed above a row of decorative elements. Apertures are formed in the panel below the top edge and on the rear side of the siding panel. The panel includes a plurality of tabs, each narrower than the apertures to provide the positioning relief, which depend downward from the rear side, with the tabs being spaced in intervals corresponding to the apertures. The decorative elements are arranged in upper and lower rows which are offset to define relatively discontinuous side edges. The panel is formed from polypropylene, and the decorative elements comprise a simulated wood grain finish to be used as cedar shake shingles. The tab is about one half the width of each aperture, with the apertures being disposed through the siding panel at an angle extending downward.

  • Patent number: 6050037
Abstract: The present invention involves a molding for window and door frames. The molding includes molding extrusions disposed around the perimeter of the door or window frame. Each molding extrusion includes a base plate, cover, and hinge portion. The base portion is capable of mounting the molding extrusion on a frame member. The cover portion extends over and contacts the base portion. The hinge portion connects the base portion and the cover portion, and is flexible to allow the cover portion to pivot relative to the base portion. Each molding extrusion includes a mitered end, and the molding may include a brace having two legs, each leg engaging a mitered end. A lip formed on the base portion retains the brace. Both the brace and the base portion may have a mounting hole capable of receiving a fastener. The brace may also have upstanding side walls disposed adjacent to side walls of the base portions, which may additionally include lips retaining the brace on the base portion side walls.

  • Patent number: 5918426
Abstract: The present invention involves an extruded material capable of being rolled into a coil, for use on the edge of a roof as a molding. The extrusion comprises a polymer material with cross-sectional a roof, fascia, and hinged portions. The roof portion is adapted to attach to roofing material on the roof. The flexible hinge connects the roof portion and the fascia portion and is unitarily formed with the roof and fascia portions. The roof and fascia portions are formed of a hard plastic material, and the flexible hinge is formed of a plastic material having greater flexibility than the hard plastic material. The roof portion includes ribs for inhibiting water penetration between the roofing material and said roof portion. The roof portion includes a protrusion serving as a connecting location with the flexible hinge, either on an end generally parallel to the roof portion serving as the connecting location with the flexible hinge, or on a perpendicular end.
