Abstract: A process of dignifying lignocellulosic pulp with oxygen followed by treatment of the delignified pulp with a chelating agent, followed by washing, followed by treatment with hydrogen peroxide at an alkaline pH in the presence of an alkali metal silicate at a temperature greater than 100.degree. C. and a pressure greater than 1.5 times the saturated vapor pressure.
Abstract: To purify a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), this DMSO is placed in contact with an ion exchange resin of sulfonic type in --SO.sub.3 NH.sub.4 form, and the DMSO is then separated from the resin. The DMSO thus obtained has an iron cation content lower than 1 ppb and a sodium cation content lower than 2 ppb.
Abstract: A material is provided comprising a film carrying a layer of a silicon oxide, a film comprising a binder and a film comprising polyolefin, wherein said film comprising the binder further comprises a catalyst. The invention also relates to a package comprising this material and the use of a catalyst in a film comprising a binder arranged between a film carrying a silicon oxide layer and a polyolefin film, for improving adhesion.
Abstract: The invention relates to belts made of thermoplastic polymer (A) and comprising a sufficient amount of a polymer (B) to render them antistatic, the said polymer (B) comprising polyethylene glycol blocks. Use is advantageously made of polymers (A) containing polyamide-6 (PA-6) or polyamide-12 (PA-12) blocks and polytetramethylene glycol blocks and polymers (B) containing PA-6 or PA-12 blocks and polyethylene glycol blocks.
Abstract: An azeotrope containing HF and 1233zd is provided, as are methods for separating this azeotrope from mixtures of HF and 1233zd which are HF-rich or 1233zd-rich and methods for making use of the azeotrope and separation methods to improve processes for preparing 1233zd, an intermediate used in the preparation of 245fa. 245fa is a known foam blowing agent and refrigerant.
