  • Patent number: 4684009
Abstract: A two-part scraper for a medium chain conveyor, particularly double chain conveyor includes a lower scraper half secured by bolts to an upper scraper half. Two scraper parts are separated from each other by a separating plane and include between each other a chain bed in which a plurality of parallel channels are provided, receiving horizontal chain links. The lower scraper part is formed with abutment teeth which extend upwardly therefrom between each two adjacent channels. The abutment teeth are engaged in respective abutment recesses formed in the upper scraper half. The curved cross-piece portions of the vertical chain links are in engagement with arch-shaped recesses provided on the backsides of the abutment teeth.

  • Patent number: 4429783
Abstract: A scraper blade assembly for use in a central chain scraper conveyor, especially in a double central chain scraper conveyor, includes a lower and an upper blade part forming respective channels that complement each other at a parting plane between the blade parts into openings for receiving transversely spaced portions of respective horizontal links of the chains. The blade parts have overlapping portions one of which extends across the parting plane and is received in a correspondingly configurated recess juxtaposed with the other overlapping portion. The overlapping portions are provided with aligned holes at least one of which is elongated in direction normal to the parting plane, and bolts extend through these holes parallel to the advancement direction of the conveyor to connect the blade parts to one another.

  • Patent number: 4429526
Abstract: A suspension chain head for mechanically assembled sling chain systems is proposed. The suspension head has a U-shaped suspension member with two legs and a web provided with a central portion and two lateral fork portions. A connecting member is pivotally mounted on the web of the suspension member and has two legs received in slots of the web and a bracket connecting the legs with one another, wherein the connecting member has a receiving opening with a width corresponding to the thickness of the chains to be suspended. The central portion of the web of the suspension member has a thickness at most equal to the thickness of the chains to be suspended, and the forked portions of the web of the suspension member have at least the thickness of the central portion of the web.

  • Patent number: 4418526
Abstract: A chain coupler link or a chain lock made preferably of round steel is assembled of two complementary J- or U-shaped link halves each having two arms of different lengths. The ends of respective arms are formed with interlockable tongue-and-groove joints and the facing wall portions of the longer arms are formed with arresting grooves directed transversely to the center plane of symmetry of the link. An arresting nose piece is insertable between the wall portions so that the projecting noses engage with respective arresting recesses. A sloping bore passes through the link halves and through the arresting piece to receive a safety pin. To ensure an unobstructed insertion of the safety pin into the sloping bore, the noses and the corresponding arresting recesses have different cross sections, so that the arresting pin is insertable between the link halves in a single orientation only.

  • Patent number: 4264097
Abstract: A suspension chain head for mechanically assembled strand-oriented sling chain systems has an annular suspension member, at least one forked member arranged for carrying a further member of the chain head and having a recess and a holding pin, and an intermediate member for connecting the forked member with the suspension member. The intermediate member has a first portion by which it is hung on the suspension member, and a second portion arranged to enter the recess of the forked member and provided with at least one hole arranged for receiving therein the holding pin of the forked member so as to connect the forked member to the intermediate member. The intermediate member may be provided with lateral spacing projections which have flattened, substantially spherically curved faces.

  • Patent number: 4171841
Abstract: A suspension chain head for a mechanically assembled strand-oriented sling chain system has an annular suspension member for suspending the chain head, at least one forked member arranged for carrying an outlet member of the chain head, and a shackle which connects the forked member to the suspension member. The shackle has a first end portion by which it is hung to the suspension member, and a second end portion provided with a pin which connects the shackle to the forked member and is secured against nondestructive disengagement from the forked member. A locking pin is provided for securing the shackle pin to the forked member. The locking pin may be formed as a spring cotter engaged in a circular groove which is provided in the shackle.

  • Patent number: 4159849
Abstract: A holding device for a chain is proposed, particularly for a chain associated with a coal cutter and having links located in two mutually transverse planes. The holding device has a chain block having two portions formed with a recess and bounding a slot. The recess is dimensioned for receiving an end portion of one of the chain links which is located in one of the planes, and the slot is dimensioned for receiving the other chain link which is located in the other of the planes. The recess may be U-shaped, and the slot extends in the direction of elongation of the chain block. Supporting portions may be provided for supporting one of the chain links which is located in a horizontal plane. Means may be provided for fastening the horizontal chain link to the supporting portions. Two additional such portions may be provided in the same chain block, spaced from the first two portions in the direction of elongation of the chain block.

  • Patent number: 4114367
Abstract: A locking element for connecting two chain links is comprised of two elongated locking members each having a recess and two end portions spaced from one another. The locking members can engage one another in which position the one end portion of the one locking member engages the other end portion of the other locking member and vice versa, in one and another planes. The recesses of the locking members together form an inner circumferentially closed recess in which the chain links can move. The locking members can be disengaged from one another, in which position the chain links can be withdrawn from the inner recess. The above planes are offset relative to one another so that during movement of the locking members between the above two positions the chain links received in the respective recesses are moved in planes parallel to the above planes of the engagement of the end portions of the locking members.
