  • Patent number: 7193307
Abstract: A power array includes a plurality of FET power assemblies and each FET power assembly has at least one field effect transistor mounted to a ciruit board. The circuit boards are arranged atop each other. A power supply pin extends through the circuit boards and is connected to a power input of each field effect transistor. A power output of each FET power assembly is connected to a power output pin which extends through each of the circuit boards. A heat sink is mounted to the power array beneath the lowest FET power assembly and is thermally connected to the field effect transistors of each FET power assembly. A method of assembling a power array including a plurality of FET power assemblies with at least one field effect transistor.

  • Patent number: 5864472
Abstract: A direct current to direct current converter utilizes a MOSFET half-bridge configuration in which the inherent magnetizing and leakage inductances of the transformer are used as the only inductances in the frequency-determining circuit. Diodes are used to limit the voltages across the capacitor of the frequency determining circuit and hence limit the short circuit and open circuit characteristics of the converter. A self-starting circuit insures that the circuit will start up when initially energized. Regulation of the circuit is provided by varying the on times of at least one of the two MOSFET transistors in the half-bridge configuration.

  • Patent number: 4044458
Abstract: A power-pack assembly including a bobbin, at least primary and secondary windings wound on the bobbin and a core carried by the bobbin. Solderless connection devices are secured to the bobbin and electrically connected to the windings. The solderless connection devices include clips which engage input and output terminals to make an electrical and mechanical connection therewith. In a preferred embodiment, the terminals are carried by a terminal block which provides a single step plug-in connection between the connection devices and the terminals. A core-grounding system is also disclosed which includes a core-grounding terminal, a spring for electrically contacting the core and a clip secured to the bobbin for engaging the core-grounding terminal and maintaining it in electrical contact with the spring.
