The cover hook is configured to engage the housing hook for latching the cover onto the housing. The wearable device also includes a strap. The strap includes a connector that has a through hole to receive the locking pin securing the strap to the housing and the cover when the housing and the cover are latched.

    Abstract: Methods for providing a bioimpedance measurement based interface for controlling a wearable device are provided. An example wearable device includes a strap configured to be worn by a user, an outer electrode located on the outer side of the strap, an inner electrode located on the inner side of the strap and configured to be in permanent contact with the skin of the user, a bioimpedance measurement module configured to measure a differential voltage between the outer electrode and the inner electrode and determine, based on the differential voltage, a bioimpedance signal of the user, and a microcontroller configured to determine that the bioimpedance signal is within a predetermined range, in response to the determination, analyze the bioimpedance signal to determine a pattern of touching the outer electrode by the user, determine that the pattern matches a predetermined pattern, and execute an operation corresponding to the predetermined pattern.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for bioimpedance measurement are provided. An example system includes a strap for carrying a smart watch on a wrist of a user, a bioimpedance measurement module, and an acoustic generator embedded into the strap. The bioimpedance measurement module is configured to measure an impedance of a tissue of the user. The acoustic generator is further configured to generate an acoustic signal modulated to carry data including the impedance. The acoustic signal can be sensed by an acoustic sensor of the smart watch. The smart watch may include an application for sensing the acoustic signal and for converting the sensed acoustic signal into a value for the impedance.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for counting features in a motion signal are provided. An example method includes detecting a signal indicative of a motion of a human body, determining, by a controller communicatively coupled to the sensor, a period in the signal, determining a location and a value of a feature within the period of the signal, determining that the location and the value of the feature are valid for counting, and in response to the determination that the location and the value of the feature are valid for counting, increasing a counter for the feature. The feature may also include a global maximum of the signal within a positive phase of the period. Criteria for the validation depend on a current type of activity. The method includes automatically determining the current type of activity based on several preceding locations and values of the feature in the signal.

An example method may comprise providing a first signal indicative of a heart rate variation (HRV) and respiration of a user, providing a second signal indicative of a HRV, respiration, and motion of the user, continuously determining a state function, wherein the state function depends on the HRV and the respiration, receiving an indication of a change of a body position of the user or a change of external conditions, in response to the indication, determining a shape of distortion of the state function, performing an analysis of the shape of distortion to determine at least one sign of a risk of the heart failure, and providing at least one alert or message regarding the at least one sign of the risk of the heart failure. The state function can include a coherence between the HRV and the respiration.
