Patent number: 10013807Abstract: A method for object recognition performed by a computing device of an augmented reality system. The method includes receiving an image from a user, determining channels that a user is subscribed to, and determining a list of servers that host the channels that the user is subscribed to by using groups of channels that are distributed among a cluster of servers. The method further includes selecting, using the computing device, which servers from the list of servers are to be used to query the channels that the user is subscribed to. In addition, the method includes querying, using the computing device, the selected servers for the channels that the user is subscribed to with the image to determine at least one object that matches the image from object databases for the channels that the user is subscribed to. The method also includes retrieving and sending content associated with the at least one object.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2013Date of Patent: July 3, 2018Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventor: George Saklatvala

Patent number: 9767362Abstract: Techniques for matching a feature of captured visual data are described in various implementations. In one example implementation, a server from among plural servers matches a feature of captured visual data of a physical target received from an electronic device with features of one of a plurality of partitions. Based on the matching, an object is identified that corresponds to the captured visual data.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2012Date of Patent: September 19, 2017Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventor: George Saklatvala

Publication number: 20170230589Abstract: Examples of techniques for targeting campaigns in augmented reality are disclosed, In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure a plurality of augmented reality overlays to be is based on a received trigger image are generated A plurality of targeting groups are then defined. For example, a targeting group may be associated with a targeting campaign aimed at a classification of user, which may be a subset of the plurality of augmented reality overlays.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2014Publication date: August 10, 2017Applicant: Aurasma LimitedInventors: Robert Paul Severn, David Stone, Waleed Hamied

Publication number: 20170221247Abstract: Examples of techniques to display overlays and events in augmented reality using graph traversal techniques are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, an event is associated with each of a plurality of augmented reality overlays. The plurality of augmented reality overlays and associated events is then displayed, using graph traversal techniques, as a graphical representation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2014Publication date: August 3, 2017Applicant: AURASMA LIMITEDInventors: Robert Paul Severn, David Stone, Matthew Sullivan

Patent number: 9691184Abstract: According to an example, a computer may receive characteristics information of an object in a video stream captured by a first computing device, generate a signature based on the characteristics information, identify an augmented reality information associated with the signature, transmit the augmented reality information to the first computing device, receive, from a second computing device, a set of characteristics information of the object in an image captured by the second computing device, determine that the set of characteristics information from the second computing device has a second signature that matches the signature generated based on the characteristics information received form the first computing device, and transmit the identified augmented reality information to the second computing device.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2015Date of Patent: June 27, 2017Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventors: Sean Mark Blanchflower, Simon Hayhurst

Patent number: 9530251Abstract: The systems and methods may allow mobile computing devices to identify real world trigger items and to cause augmented reality scenarios associated with a real world trigger item to be presented on a display of the mobile computing device. A lookup scheme may identify indexed feature points of known candidate trigger items stored in a database. A number of evaluations occur between the indexed feature points to the feature points found in the real world trigger item. A determination that the feature points of a candidate trigger item matches the feature points of the real world trigger item is made when a confidence threshold is met or exceeded based on at least the look up scheme, weighted factor evaluation, variable threshold evaluation and potentially a geometric consistency evaluation to declare a positive match.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventors: James Loxam, Sean Mark Blanchflower

Patent number: 9338589Abstract: The systems and methods allow users of mobile computing devices to generate augmented reality scenarios. Augmented reality content is paired with a real world trigger item to generate the augmented reality scenario. The augmented reality content is overlaid onto frames on a video when a trigger item is detected. Each mobile computing device may have an augmented reality application resident on the mobile computing device to allow a user to generate the augmented reality scenarios.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2014Date of Patent: May 10, 2016Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventors: James Loxam, Sean Mark Blanchflower

Patent number: 9256798Abstract: Example embodiments relate to document alteration based on native text analysis and optical character recognition (OCR). In example embodiments, a system analyzes native text obtained from a native document to identify a text entity in the native document. At this stage, the system may use a native application interface to convert the native document to a document image and perform OCR on the document image to identify a text location of the text entity. The system may then generate an alteration box (e.g., redaction box, highlight box) at the text location in the document image to alter a presentation of the text entity.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 2013Date of Patent: February 9, 2016Assignee: Aurasma LimitedInventors: James Richard Walker, James Arthur Burtoft
