  • Patent number: 4864919
Abstract: A narrow vent for aerating windshields of tractors, work machines, etc. The vent has a plurality of fins that spread the air stream that is directed onto a window in a fan-like manner. A portion of the fins, as side fins, are directed onto a region adjacent the vent, and the other portion of the fins, as main fins, are directed onto a region just ahead of the vent, with the angle provided by the fins corresponding approximately to a quarter circle. The air-exit plane provided by the vent extends at most insignificantly beyond the vehicle body part in which the vent is installed. All of the fins are partially recessed in the vent. The side fins are longer, and the outermost side fin is considerably longer, than the main fins.

  • Patent number: 4866320
Abstract: A fan assembly that includes an impeller driven by an electric motor. The housing for the impeller has an air intake opening and a pressure-side connection for the discharge of air, with the pressure-side connection being provided with an air inlet opening that communicates with an air conduit that in turn leads to the electric motor housing. Air that flows through the air conduit is supplied at least to the region of the commutator of the electric motor. The electric motor housing is provided with an air outlet opening for receiving air that has been supplied to the electric motor housing via the air conduit, with this air outlet opening being in flow communication with an underpressure region of the impeller remote from the pressure-side connection of the impeller housing.

  • Patent number: 4821796
Abstract: A device for heating passenger compartments. A fan and a heat exchanger are provided in a housing. To achieve a compact construction and a greater air capacity, the fan is a radial-flow fan having a rectangular air outlet opening. The heat exchanger is disposed at one of the end faces of the fan, and the air inlet side of the heat exchanger is disposed at an angle to the axis of the fan. At least one air-guiding member is provided between the delivery conduit of the fan and the inlet side of the heat exchanger. The air-guiding member changes the flow of air emerging from the opening of the fan into an approximately right-angled or rectangular flow profile having a width corresponding to the width of the heat exchanger, with the flow striking the inlet side of the heat exchanger at an acute angle.

  • Patent number: 4658598
Abstract: An apparatus for ventilating and air-conditioning driver compartments, cabs, or the like. A base plate is provided that closes off a space formed by the roof construction and the base plate. Disposed in this space is a partition that extends at a right angle to the base plate and is disposed transverse to the direction of flow so as to divide the entire space. The partition is associated with an evaporator, and has an aperture, the dimensions of which are adapted to the air passage cross-section of the evaporator.

  • Patent number: 4610196
Abstract: A ventilating or air supply nozzle for panes, especially windshields, and at least one portion of the interior of a passenger vehicle or a driver's cab. The nozzle has an air inlet connection for fresh air and/or recirculated air, and an air outlet opening. The nozzle also includes a swivel damper which is pivotably mounted about an axis within a housing, and is provided with curved guide elements or deflectors. In order to be able to rapidly deice the windshield, the plane of the air outlet opening extends at an obtuse angle relative to the axis of the air inlet connection. The width of the free cross-sectional area of the air outlet opening is at least as great as the width of the cutting plane of the projection of the air inlet connection with the plane of the air outlet opening. A housing portion which is in the shape of a circular arc essentially covers the obtuse angle. The pivot axis of the swivel damper is disposed on that side disposed across from the housing portion.
