  • Patent number: 11938942
Abstract: A system and method of this disclosure control an on/off state of a power take-off by monitoring the power demand of a fluid power circuit that includes the power take-off and a piece of equipment connected to the power take-off. The power demand may be indicated by a pressure or temperature of a fluid power circuit, by a motion of the equipment or its hand-held controller, or by an engine torque of an engine driving the power take-off. When the equipment transitions between an off state and an on state, the controller automatically engages the power take-off. When the equipment is in the on-state for a predetermined amount of time and the power demand is at or below a predetermined threshold during the predetermined amount of time—thereby indicating idle time or an inactive state of the equipment—the controller automatically disengages the power take-off.

  • Patent number: 11879577
Abstract: A hose guide having a base with a back side, a front side and a hose receiving orifice. A receiver extends from the front side of the base. The receiver has a terminal end that communicates an interior surface and an exterior surface. The terminal end may define a plurality of fillets. A roller assembly is affixed to the back side the base. The roller assembly supports a plurality of rollers for engaging an external surface of a hose. When installed, the hose guide of the invention is flush with a sealing surface, such as a panel, for providing a sealing surface therewith. Rollers are provided for reducing damage to a hose passing therethrough. Use of a complementary shaped stopper helps to prevent an ingress of water and dust through the hose guide, e.g., into a hose reel containing compartment.

  • Patent number: 11104559
Abstract: Embodiments of a personnel basket for attachment to a crane boom include folding sidewall sections; a rear wall connected to the sidewall sections; a front wall in pivotal connection to one of the folding sidewall sections; a floor in pivotal relation to the rear wall; a stalk integral to the rear wall and including a boom connection; and a cam or stop that transmits floor loads to the stalk. Because of the pivotal relationships, the personnel basket is moveable or foldable in a connected or assembled condition between a deployed (unfolded) state and a folded (fully collapsed) state. When in the deployed and folded states, the walls and floor remain connected to the personnel basket, the walls sharing a same orientation, the floor pivoting toward and away from the rear wall between a horizontal and vertical orientation.

  • Patent number: 10450171
Abstract: A crane control system and method which automatically de-rates the maximum capacity of the crane when the boom is located in a first zone located on one side of the truck or in a second zone located on the opposite side of the truck. The control system de-rates the crane without input from the crane operator. The control system may use an inductive proximity sensor located on the base of the boom to locate stationary steel targets located around the base of the boom. The targets approximate the outer ranges of the first and second zones.

  • Patent number: 9868381
Abstract: A service body mountable on a truck chassis where compressed air tanks are mounted to the service body frame. The compressed air tanks being contained within a mounting envelope defined as the volume between the frame rails of the service body. The mounting envelope further defined as the volume between a first plane formed by the top surface of the service body frame rails and a second plane formed by the bottom surface of the service body frame rails.

  • Patent number: 8272521
Abstract: The present invention is a crane operating system and method which monitors the crane moment load in order to keep the crane within the safe operating envelope. In determining the current crane moment load the system considers boom raising cylinder pressure, boom angle, chassis incline, as well as hydraulic pressure.

  • Patent number: 6994223
Abstract: A programmable control system for a crane that senses a hydraulic pressure of the lift mechanism, and controls the movements of the crane apparatus as a function of the magnitude of the hydraulic pressure. As the status conditions of the crane change, sense switches relay such information to a programmable controller and error codes are generated and presented to the operator. The control system can respond to the states of the sense switches and override wireless command inputs to the control system.

  • Patent number: 6941654
Abstract: A service body for a vehicle includes side packs, each of which is formed with a multi-panel face which includes a side panel, a front panel and a back panel. The panels of the multi-panel face are formed integral by laser cutting the face from a single sheet of metal. L-shaped compartment panels are constructed by forming a compartment divider at right angles to a recessed doorjamb. The recessed doorjambs are welded to the interior surface of the side panel. Top, back and bottom panels are welded to flanged edges of the multi-panel face.

  • Patent number: 4191301
Abstract: A device for limiting the rotation of a member rotatable about an axis extending from a base, while permitting rotation clockwise and counterclockwise through a preselected number of turns. An actuating lug is rigidly secured to the member, a disc is rotatably secured to the base, the disc having a plurality of bosses rigidly secured adjacent the periphery thereof, the bosses being spaced apart from each other in equal angular relationship, the bosses being engaged by the actuating lug to cause angular displacement of the disc upon each rotation of the member. A stop lug is rigidly secured to the base in the path of the disc bosses to engage therewith and arrest angular displacement of the disc and thereby the rotation of the member.

  • Patent number: 4183440
Abstract: An extensible boom, which comprises a first part which is pivotally anchored to a rotatable pedestal so that the boom may be raised or lowered. A second part of smaller lateral dimension is adapted to slide within the first part. The outer end of the second part carries a crown, with at least two crown sheaves. On the inner end of the second part there are two pulleys having transverse vertical pins about which they rotate. On the outer end of the first part there is a third pulley having a shaft substantially horizontal. A conventional cable drum is supported on the pedestal with conventional drive means. The cable spools from the drum over one of the crown shafts down to a travelling block and hook and is arranged over said pulleys in a manner such that when there is a weight hanging on the hook, there will be a force tending to extrude the second part out of the first part, unless it is held back by a tension member.

  • Patent number: 4098492
Abstract: A travelling block system that can be changed quickly from a four support line system to a two support line system, which comprises a travelling block having two sheaves, and a single sheave block with hook, attached to the crown of a boom. The two sheave travelling blocks comprise a frame with two parallel spaced plates serving as inner sheave plates, two sheaves on the outside of the inner sheave plates, and two outer sheave plates. The sheave plates are firmly bolted to the frame, and appropriate sheave pins are supplied through each pair of outer and inner sheave plates. Two guard strips are provided which are removably attached around the periphery of the outer and inner sheave plates so as to completely contain the cable around the sheave on sides and bottom of the sheaves.
