Abstract: A safety belt reeling device with comfort function has a housing and a reeling shaft rotatably supported in the housing. A pawl wheel is fastened to the reeling shaft and switchable between a locked position in which rotation of the pawl wheel is blocked and a release position in which the pawl wheel is rotatable. A winding spring, connected with a first end to the housing and with a second end to the pawl wheel, is provided for rotating the reeling shaft when the pawl wheel is in the release position. A comfort spring with a weaker spring force than the winding spring is provided. The comfort spring is connected with a first end to the pawl wheel and with a second end to the reeling shaft. The pawl wheel has a stay with a first and a second end. The first end of the comfort spring is guided in a single loop about the first end of the stay. An elastically deformable dampening element is positioned between the first end of the stay and the single loop.

  • Patent number: 5809439
Abstract: A triggering device for a vehicle safety device is provided with an acceleration sensor generating signals corresponding to a measured acceleration and a circuit processing the signals for generating a triggering signal when a predetermined threshold value for a vehicle collision is exceeded. To manufacture a triggering device of high security and reliability in an economical manner, the acceleration signals measured by the acceleration sensor are supplied to a threshold circuit having at least two threshold values for a specific vehicle. The threshold circuit activates a counter with a weighting factor that is increased from the first threshold value to the next threshold value. The counter adds received clock pulses to the given weighting factor and at each clock pulse is decremented by a count the weighting factor of which is below that of the first threshold value.

  • Patent number: 5588612
Abstract: In a blocking device for a safety belt having a belt retractor, which carries a belt reel for winding and unwinding the safety belt and has a control wheel controlled in a safety belt-sensitive and/or vehicle-sensitive manner and a control plate controlled thereby for triggering blocking of the belt reel, a self-blocking action of the belt retractor is to be cancelled by a single pull on the safety belt. On the control plate a pilot pawl is supported, which is rotatable by the movement of the control plate and which, during the blocking sequence, before the latter reaches its disengaged position, holds the control plate securely in such an intermediate position that a subsequent relative movement between the control wheel and the control plate is possible. This results in the cancellation of the self-blocking action and the return of the relevant structural parts into their respective initial position.
