Patent number: 8315913Abstract: A system and method for determining physical location of an electronic display device located in a retail establishment of a retailer may include a support structure mechanically coupling the electronic display device to a fixture in the retail establishment. The fixture may be located at an identified location of the retail environment established by the retailer. An input device may be in communication with the electronic display device and configured to receive an entry of an identifier indicative of the identified location into the electronic display device. A transmitter may be coupled to the electronic display device and configured to transmit the identifier of the identified location to a remote location from the electronic display device for determining physical location of the electronic display device in the retail establishment.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2011Date of Patent: November 20, 2012Assignee: Automated Media Services, Inc.Inventors: Robert I. Patent number: 7937723Abstract: One embodiment of a system and method may include communicating visual content via a visual content signal to an electronic visual display for displaying between a start time and an end time. The visual content signal may be displayed between the start and end times, and an operational parameter (e.g., voltage or current) of the electronic visual display may be sensed between the start and end times. An indicator indicative of the sensed operational parameter may be recorded. The recorded indicator provides for verification of the visual content being displayed by the electronic visual display. Signature analysis may be performed on the sensed operational parameter to determine that the visual content signal was properly displayed. In addition, a visual content signal may be uniquely identified based on the signature analysis.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2009Date of Patent: May 3, 2011Assignee: Automated Media Services, Inc.Inventors: William Robert Weissmueller, Jr., Ernest Lawrence Tell

Patent number: 7912759Abstract: A system and method for providing a subscription-based, electronic signage advertisement service to retailers may include establishing a retailer as a subscriber for use of an electronic display. A subscription agreement may enable the retailer to use the electronic display and receive communications services for content to be distributed to the electronic display. The electronic display may be provided to the retailer and configured to receive and display the content by configuring the electronic display as a network node for content to be distributed. The content may be stored in a data repository and distributed to the electronic display at the retailer. The content may be distributed via a communications network to the electronic display and displayed at the retailer.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2010Date of Patent: March 22, 2011Assignee: Automated Media Services, Inc.Inventors: Robert I. Patent number: 7742950Abstract: A system and method for distributing content for a broadcaster on a communications network. The system may include a database operable to maintain the content for the broadcaster, the broadcaster being a subscriber for use of at least one visual appliance. A user interface may be in communication with the database and be operable (i) to provide a self-servicing scheduler for the broadcaster to form a playlist of the content and (ii) to distribute the playlist and associated scheduled content across the communications network. A server may be operable to receive the playlist and scheduled content associated therewith via the communications network. A visual appliance may be in communication with the server and be operable to receive and display the scheduled content.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2006Date of Patent: June 22, 2010Assignee: Automated Media Services, Inc.Inventors: Robert I. Wolinsky, Martin A. Amadio, Peter G. Goldring, Stanley Kirshenbaum

Patent number: 7614065Abstract: A system and method for providing multiple levels of verification of content displayed on an electronic display. A verification code signal representative of a verification code may be displayed with the visual content. The verification code may be sensed and determined to verify that the visual content was displayed. A timestamp may be generated to indicate time of day that the visual content is displayed. In one embodiment, the verification code signal may be displayed in one or more colors and sensed. Verification that the visual content was displayed with correct colors may be made based on the sensed visual verification code signal. Verification that the visual content was displayed at a certain time and with the correct colors may be provided to an owner of the visual content, such as an advertiser.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2002Date of Patent: November 3, 2009Assignee: Automated Media Services, Inc.Inventors: William Robert Weissmueller, Jr., Ernest Lawrence Tell

Publication number: 20030115591Abstract: A system and method for providing multiple levels of verification of displaying visual content on an electronic visual display. One embodiment includes a method that displays a visual verification code signal in relation to a visual content signal representative of the visual content displayed on the electronic visual display. The visual verification code signal is sensed as displayed by the electronic visual display, and, based thereon, the verification code is determined and verification of the display of the visual content on the electronic visual display is performed. The visual verification code signal may be displayed in different colors to verify the operation of the electronic visual display with respect to color and intensity.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2002Publication date: June 19, 2003Applicant: AUTOMATED MEDIA SERVICES, INC.Inventors: William Robert Weissmueller, Ernest Lawrence Tell
