Patents Assigned to Automated Refuse Equipment, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5772385
Abstract: A lift mechanism for use with a refuse collection vehicle for lifting and dumping refuse carts. The device includes a frame which is adapted for mounting on a refuse collection vehicle and a pan assembly which is adapted to engage refuse carts. A pair of guide arms provided which have a first end pivotally connected to a frame and a second end which is pivotally connected to the pan assembly. A first actuator arm is provided having a first end connected to the frame and a second end connected to a reciprocating actuator. A pair of second actuator arms is provided having a first end connected to a frame and having a second end connected to the pan assembly. A connecting arm is pivotally connected at a first end to a second end of the first actuator arms and at a second end to the second actuator arms at a location between the first end and second end of the second actuator arms. The connecting arm provides corresponding movement of the second actuator arm in response to movement of first actuator arm.

  • Patent number: 5584642
Abstract: A refuse collection vehicle which has a refuse collection hopper mounted thereto, such that the hopper has a closed first end and an open second end and an opening located adjacent the first end for providing access to the hopper. A tailgate is connected to the hopper which, in conjunction with the hopper, defines with an inner cavity. The tailgate is movable between a closed position for covering the second end of the hopper and an open position for uncovering at least a portion of the second end of the hopper for emptying refuse therefrom. A divider panel is mounted within the hopper for generally horizontally dividing the inner cavity into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. A paddle is connected to the divider panel and is movable relative thereto to thereby change the relative volume of the upper and lower chambers. The paddle cooperates with the tailgate for selectively emptying at least one of the upper chamber and the lower chamber when the tailgate is in the open position.

  • Patent number: 5525022
Abstract: A refuse collection truck includes a lift arm which mounts a longitudinally moveable slide, and the slide in turn pivotally mounts a faceplate of the type adapted to engage a refuse collection container which is positioned along the roadside. The longitudinal movement of the slide permits the contents of the container to be dumped into a selected one of two chambers of the collection hopper on the track, and where split containers are utilized, the contents of one side of a lifted container may be deposited in one chamber of the hopper and the contents of the other side of the container may be deposited in the other chamber. The pivotal mounting of the faceplate to the slide permits the faceplate to be aligned with misoriented containers.
