Abstract: The invention is a nested spring assembly. The assembly comprises a first spring and a second spring, and both the first and second springs have an inner and outer surface. The second spring is nested within a cavity formed by the first spring, and the second spring is releasably secured to the first spring by a longitudinal strip of adhesive contacting both the outer surface of the second spring and the inner surface of the first spring.
Abstract: A helical coil spring coupler for clutch dampers used in torque converters or clutches wherein the coil springs are compressed in series alignment end-to-end in an arcuate channel. Each coil spring-to-coil spring interface has a ball and socket coupling attached to the springs and providing force transmission axially through each coil. The spring end coils are fully supported by a flange of the couplings; preventing spring end coil breakage.
