Patents Assigned to Autostrade, S.p.A.
  • Patent number: 6840706
Abstract: Road safety barrier includes a resistant part and one or two dampening parts for a lateral barrier or a traffic divider respectively. The resistant part of the wall type barrier may be rigidly connected to steel plates which are equally spaced and have been specifically conceived for increasing the resistance during an impact caused by a heavy vehicle. The plates have a slot for the passage of ductile screw anchors, allowing the initial displacement of the resistant part and its connection to the support. If provided, the ductile anchor parts are covered by the dampening part.

  • Patent number: 6517279
Abstract: A safety barrier for roads, used as a traffic divider, includes a double row of concrete made New Jersey barrier elements which allow the realization of a hedge on earth interposed between the barrier elements. The earth is contained in a sack made of nonwoven fabric, fixed, to both barrier elements, so as to leave gaps behind the rear walls of the barrier elements. The gaps together with a plurality of sliders or runners provided on the barrier's base, allow during impact a controlled displacement of the barrier elements. The calibration of decelerations is adjusted by the material used for the sliders.

  • Patent number: 6379079
Abstract: Ecotechnical pavement comprising a draining and wearing course (1) and at least a second lower layer (2) of analogous structure. The particular granulometry of the layers (1, 2) and the choice of aggregates, insure both an optimum adherence and the absorption of medium and high acoustic frequencies produced by vehicle traffic. Between the two layers (1, 2) and the lower supporting layer (5) there is provided a “cooperating separation layer” (3) which transmits the forces produced by vehicle traffic to the supporting layer (5). The layer (3) acts as a Helmhotz resonator in order to absorb sound at low frequencies, besides allowing an easy transversal flow of rainwater, the passage of powder of heavy metals or the passage of other types of liquids; the latter, which may be dangerous or polluting, are collected in a lateral “reservoir pavement” (9). The separation layer prevents cracks due to fatigue from rising.

  • Patent number: 5730548
Abstract: Deadening pavement for roads, comprising: an upper layer (10), formed by a wearing course of asphalt having an average granulometry, and a lower layer (12) supporting the wearing course (10), and which is made of cement, concrete, or similar materials, wherein in the lower layer (12) there is obtained a plurality of cavities (18), facing directly the upper layer (10),which act as Helmholtz resonators.

  • Patent number: 5697728
Abstract: Light guardrail for bridges formed by a plurality of uprights (1, 2) made of sheet steel and having a box-like shape. The uprights are individually fixed by means of screw anchors (4) to a support (5) made of concrete (Kerbstone of the viaduct or foundation for the lateral edge on an embankment). The uprights (1, 2) are covered by a cover sheet steel (7) formed by a shaped sheet steel having at New Jersey profile, which partially has at form complementary to the profile of the uprights (1, 2). The individual uprights (1, 2) are connected to each other by means of steel pines (26, 27) fixed on the rear side of the uprights.

  • Patent number: 4453856
Abstract: A self-propelled pavement lane apparatus comprising a radial-frequency microwave generator extending across one lane of the roadway having an antenna with a slotted waveguide directed toward the roadway for heating a lane-wide stretch of the roadway. A ripping device is provided behind the microwave generator to rip up pavement which was heated by the microwave generator. A screw conveyor conveys the heated and ripped pavement inwardly toward a central axis of the apparatus where it is fed by a chute to a mixing chamber containing counter-rotating mixing blades. Fresh bituminous binder and/or filler may be added to the mixing chamber to be mixed with the ripped pavement which is then discharged from the mixing chamber by a second screw conveyor, to be distributed across the lane. Following the second screw conveyor is a finished plate for initially compacting the refinished surface.

  • Patent number: 4219802
Abstract: A scanning barrier which can detect and discriminate objects which are within the scanned area. A transmitter on one side of the scanned area transmits a laminar barrage of electromagnetic microwaves across the scanned area. The laminar barrage of electromagnetic microwaves have a thin width and a predetermined height. A receiver across the scanned area receives the microwaves. The receiver is formed of a plurality of vertically adjacent elemental receivers which divide the laminar barrage into a series of horizontal slices. A logic circuit is connected to each of the elemental receivers and can detect the interruption of the laminar barrage to that elemental receiver.

  • Patent number: 4023017
Abstract: A traffic control system having a number of detectors spaced along a roadway being monitored. The detectors are organized in groups, each group being interconnected to a different post. The posts include transmission and reception equipment for communicating with the detectors of that group. A transmission line system has a number of sections with a single section corresponding respectively to a single group of detectors. The sections of the transmission line system are also respectively coupled to the posts. The posts are also organized into groups, each group being interconnected to a control computer. All the control computers are connected to a central computer and an operating center. The various computers can be set to control the traffic in response to the information detected. Also, communications can be carried out, both in code and in clear, between the vehicles using the roadway and the computers or the operating center.
