  • Patent number: 5768922
Abstract: A security device includes a case having a bottom open end to receive merchandise, a top surface, two opposing ends and two opposing sidewall surfaces; at least one tab protruding from the case; and a locking mechanism for maintaining the received merchandise in the case. The locking mechanism includes a base housing including at least one slot to receive and retain the tab to help secure the case to the locking mechanism, at least one flange extending from the base housing to overlie at least one surface of the case, and a movable member. The moveable member (i) maintains the received merchandise in the case by blocking the front of the bottom open end and securing the tab in the slot when the locking mechanism is closed and (ii) disengages from the front of the bottom open end when the locking mechanism is open allowing the tab to become fully separated from the slot and the locking mechanism to become fully separated from the case. A decoupler is provided for opening the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5730283
Abstract: A package and storage unit includes a tray slidable within an endoskeleton/exoskeleton frame. The edge of each surface of the endoskeleton/exoskeleton frame includes a cavity/recess and protrusions to hold a wrapped paperboard with graphics to be wrapped around the frame. Slots on three edges of the rear of the frame receive a folded rear portion of the paperboard. The tray includes a spring with a ledge and two protrusions to securely hold and easily remove the disk from the tray. In an alternative embodiment, the frame includes a pair of parallel pushers, and the tray includes a pair of guides. The arrangement of the pair of pushers and guides is used to securely hold and easily remove the disk from the tray. Both the frame and tray include contour portions to latch the tray in an open or closed position in the frame. A locking mechanism has a housing with parallel flanges to overlie a portion of the faces and a side of the frame and to prevent the tray from being withdrawn from the frame.

  • Patent number: 5085322
Abstract: A video cassette storage container comprises a transparent enclosure having upper, lower and sidewall surfaces, and top and bottom ends, wherein the top end is enclosed and the bottom end is open to receive a video cassette for storage. A tab, pivotably connected to the upper surface of the enclosure, has a perpendicular end portion that partially encloses the bottom end for retaining a video cassette in the enclosure. The tab is pivoted open manually to release the video cassette for removal from the bottom end of the enclosure. A graphics sleeve retaining member formed within the enclosure retains a graphics sleeve at the bottom end, and a door hinged to the upper end of the enclosure is opened manually for receiving the sleeve and cassette.

  • Patent number: 4930735
Abstract: A bag apparatus for support on the door of a cabinet or some like supporting structure. The bag apparatus includes spaced and parallel upright sides including upper and lower portions and a detachable open frame coupling the sides and resting thereupon. The open frame defines a mouth through which a plastic bag depends, the bag having a peripheral margin adapted for being draped over the frame. A lower member extends between and is detachable from the sides. This lower member is capable of supporting the bottom of a bag draped over the frame and is further provided for supporting a source of replacement bags. A cover is pivotally connected to the sides for closing the mouth defined by the frame. The cover, sides, open frame, and lower member are detachable from one another and adapted to be packed together in a flat compact structure of nesting parts in order to conserve shelf space for marketing. The sides are provided with receptacles in which may be stored ties for closing bags which are used.
