Abstract: A method for channel sounding for high efficiency (HE) and extreme high throughput (EHT) stations (STAs) includes receiving, by a station (STA), an aggregate physical layer protocol data unit (A-PPDU) from an access point (AP), the A-PPDU including an HE sounding null data packet (NDP) and an EHT sounding NDP, receiving, by the STA, a beamforming report poll frame (BFRP) from the AP, and receiving, by the STA, one or more compressed beamforming (BF)/channel quality indicator (CQI) frames. The HE sounding NDP or the EHT sounding NDP overlaps 242-tone resource units (RUs) corresponding to bits with a value of 1 in the bitmap of the TXVECTOR parameter INACTIVE_SUBCHANNELS or overlaps a punctured center 26-tone RU of an HE sounding NDP, the HE sounding NDP or the EHT sounding NDP being punctured.
Abstract: A method by a wireless device to extend communication range when operating in a 6 Gigahertz (GHz) band of a wireless network is described. The method includes generating a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes a preamble portion and a data portion that includes first data and transmitting the PPDU through a wireless medium on a transmission channel that is subdivided into a plurality of resource units (RUs), wherein the first data is duplicated in the data portion in a frequency domain in units of RUs.
Abstract: A method is described, which includes receiving, by a wireless station from a first access point, an overlapping basic service set (OBSS) status report request, which requests information from the station regarding a set of neighboring access points; transmitting, by the wireless station to the first access point, an OBSS status report that indicates path-loss characteristics of channels between the set of neighboring access points and the wireless station; receiving, by the wireless station from the first access point, an access point cooperation null data packet announcement frame, which indicates a cooperative transmission between the first access point and the second access point to the wireless station; receiving, by the wireless station from the first access point, a first null data packet and a second null data packet from the second access point, wherein the first and second null data packets are transmitted as part of the cooperative transmission.
Abstract: A method is performed by a wireless device functioning as a beamformer station (STA) in a wireless network to perform a sounding procedure. The method includes wirelessly transmitting a null data packet (NDP) announcement frame in a first frequency band, the NDP announcement frame including a sounding dialog token field where bits B0 and B1 of the sounding dialog token field are set to binary ‘1’ to indicate the NDP announcement frame should be processed as an extremely high throughput (EHT) NDP announcement frame, and wirelessly transmitting an NDP frame in a second frequency band.
Abstract: A method for encoding a bitstream is described. The method includes receiving, by an error correction unit, the bitstream; performing, by the error correction unit, encoding on the bitstream to generate an encoded bit stream that includes the bitstream and parity bits; processing, by a constellation unit, the encoded bitstream to generate constellation points in one or more encoded streams; determining, by a low-density parity-check (LDPC) tone mapper, a distance between subcarriers in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the frame; and performing, by the LDPC tone mapper, LDPC tone mapping based on the one or more encoded streams and on the determined distance to generate a permuted stream of complex numbers, wherein the distance between subcarriers is determined to be either (1) 18 for a first resource unit size used in the frame and (2) 20 for a second resource unit size used in the frame.
