Patents Assigned to Avdel Limited
  • Patent number: 4506536
Abstract: A blind riveting tool has a front abutment provided by a pair of jaws which are spring-urged into their closed position and move to their open position by a generally pivoting movement of each jaws. The jaws are opened by means of a ball which is in contact with the outside of the rearward end of each jaw, the balls being encircled by a rotatable ring having cam faces in contact with the balls. When the ring is rotated, the cam faces force the balls inwards to press the rearward ends of the jaws together, thereby to make each jaw pivot and open the front end of the jaws.

  • Patent number: 4440286
Abstract: A device for orientating components each comprising an axially elongated body extendng unequal distances on opposite sides of a flange. Different components may have the center of gravity on different sides of the flange. The device comprises a slotted track along which components are fed by vibration, the slot being too narrow to pass the flange. A component is supported on the track by its flange about which it can pivot while on the first portion 28 of the track. A second portion 29 of the track can be entered only by a component orientated perpendicularly of the track with its longer part extending into the slot. The orientating device includes two air jets 38 and 39, one overlying each part of the track and spaced apart along the track by rather more than the length of one component.

  • Patent number: 4202191
Abstract: A cold forging machine comprises a fixed die 11 and a movable punch tool 13 reciprocable towards and away from the fixed die to act on a workpiece therein. The tool comprises a tubular punch 34 and extrusion pin 33 movable through the punch to form a bore in the workpiece. The die is provided with a tubular ejector 15 in which slides a carrier pin 16 to enter the bore of the formed workpiece to guide it during ejection. A fault detection system includes a switch 25,61 for detecting non-completion of the normal movement of the carrier pin 16 with respect to the ejector 15, and a further switch for detecting non-completion of normal movement of the extrusion pin 33 with respect to the punch 34.

  • Patent number: 3970225
Abstract: A dispenser pen for dispensing liquids such as adhesives has a tube 12 connecting a supply 14 of the liquid to a nozzle 15. The tube 12 passes between a cross-pin 19 and one end of a pivoted lever 18 which is normally urged by a spring 23 to squeeze the tube 12 between the lever and the cross-pin so as to close the tube to flow of the liquid. The region 17 of the tube between the lever 18 and the cross-pin 19 is predeformed to a generally flattened shape which can open to permit flow of liquid but can be closed with little force and by a short movement of the lever 18.
