Abstract: The invention relates to a device for loading a rivet module (10), which can be vertically displaced between a lower placement position and an upper loading position, with blind rivet nuts (100) using a rivet feed (22). The invention is characterized in that next to the rivet placement head (12), a cup (24) for accommodating blind rivet nuts is laterally arranged such that it can be displaced between a position underneath the rivet feed (22) and a position underneath the rivet module (10) that is located in the loading position, whereby the cup (24) is provided with a clamping cylinder.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device and to a method for charging a riveting module (10) that is vertically displaced between a lower placement position and an upper charge position with blind break-mandrel rivets (100) or hollow-core rivets that consist of a shank and a reusable mandrel. Said device comprises a rivet supply (22) and, in addition to the riveting module (10), a funnel (24) that receives the rivet (100) with its mandrel (110) oriented upward and that is displaced laterally between a position below the rivet supply (22) and a position below the riveting module (10) in the charge position.

Abstract: A breakable-stem blind rivet (5) is having a mandrel (10) with an enlarged head (12) which is positioned in a shell (20). Before the beginning of the setting operation, the shell (20) is having an exterior diameter which at all points is smaller than the interior diameter of the hole (4) in which the breakable-stem blind rivet is to be set. The breakable-stem blind rivet therefore without any preformed set head has basically the form of a hollow cylinder. Preferably the shell (20) on both sides of a central section (21) is provided with areas (23, 25) in which the shell (20) is more easily deformable than in the central section (21). An apparatus for setting the breakable-stem blind rivets of this kind is provided with a workpiece pressing means (32) surrounding a mouth piece (30) which with respect to the mouth piece (30) is relatively movable and is exerting a force onto the front side of the workpiece.
