    Abstract: The invention provides an oral formulation for dietary supplementation comprising a binder and a mineral complex consisting essentially of a natural basaltic deposit having an average particle size ranging from about 10 to about 6000 mesh and comprising about 40 wt. % to about 60 wt. % Si02, about 6 wt. % to about 16 wt. % Fe203, about 4 wt. % to about 12 wt. %. CaO, and about 2 wt. % to about 8 wt. % MgO. Methods of formulating and using the aforesaid oral formulation also are provided.
