  • Patent number: 8368752
Abstract: A size estimation method is used with a document camera to estimate an object size. The document camera includes a lens and an image sensor. The size estimation method includes the following steps. Firstly, an object distance between the lens and the object is detected. According to the object distance and a viewable angle of the lens, a shooting zone size is estimated. Then, the object is shot by the lens and the image sensor, thereby acquiring a digital image including an image of the object. Then, an effective pixel number corresponding to the object image is counted. Afterward, the size of the object is estimated according to the effective pixel number, a total pixel number of the image sensor and the shooting zone size.

  • Patent number: 8358871
Abstract: A skewed image data detecting and correcting device includes a skew angle detecting module, and an image rotating correction module. A skewed image data detecting and correcting method includes the following steps. Firstly, a binary digitizing operation is performed to obtain a binary image data. The binary image data is rotated by multiple different rotating angles, thereby obtaining multiple rotated binary image data. The pixel numbers of all horizontal rows of the rotated binary image data are totalized, thereby obtaining multiple horizontal pixel number distribution curves. A high-pass filtering procedure is performed to filter off low-frequency noise, thereby obtaining multiple high-frequency signal curves. The square sums of respective high-frequency signal curves are calculated, thereby obtaining multiple index values.

Abstract: A pointing device cooperates with a display device which shows a cursor moving in response to a movement of the pointing device. The pointing device includes a casing, a sensing unit and a modulation structure. The sensing unit senses a first movement of the pointing device to acquire first movement information when the sensing unit is arranged in a first position. The modulation structure connected with the sensing unit adjusts the sensing unit from the first position to a second position. Then, the sensing unit senses the first movement of the pointing device to acquire second movement information when the sensing unit is arranged in the second position. The moving path of the cursor is shown on the display device according to the first movement information or the second movement information.

  • Patent number: 7940432
Abstract: A surveillance system having a multi-area motion-detection function is described. The surveillance system includes a display, an area selection device, and a threshold input device. The display shows a surveillance video. The area selection device selects a first area and a second area on the display screen. The threshold input device sets a motion-detection threshold of the first area and a motion-detection threshold of the second area. When the result of the motion-detection exceeds the motion-detection threshold of the first area, the surveillance video is stored in a storage medium. When the result of the motion-detection exceeds the motion-detection threshold of the second area, the surveillance video is stored in the storage medium.

  • Patent number: 7768547
Abstract: A monitoring system including N cameras, a digital video recorder (DVR), a monitor, a remote controller, a receiver and a host is provided. N is a positive integer. The N cameras successively shoot N sceneries, and output N successive images accordingly. The DVR receives and stores the N successive images. The monitor displays a monitoring screen. The remote controller outputs a wireless remote signal. The receiver receives the wireless remote signal and outputs a wire transmit signal accordingly. The host controls the monitor to display at least the successive image in the monitoring screen. The host has an on screen display (OSD) program. When the controller receives the wire transmit signal, the host utilizes the OSD program to process the wire transmit signal to become a screen adjusting signal. The host adjusts the monitoring screen according to the screen adjusting signal.

  • Patent number: 7746401
Abstract: A method is used with a document camera and an image display device for adjusting the image display range. The document camera includes an image synthesis controller and a graphics buffer. In the method, a first image frame and a second image frame are received by the image synthesis controller. In response to the image parallel display information, the graphics buffer is divided into a first region and a second region, and the image synthesis controller fills partial data of the first image frame and second image frame into the first region and the second region, respectively. In response to a change of the image parallel display information made by the user, the graphics buffer is divided into a third region and a fourth region, and the image synthesis controller fills partial data of the first image frame and second image frame into the third region and the fourth region, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20100115404
Abstract: The present invention discloses a method to automatically arrange word string in a display. The word string includes two words. The method includes the following steps. The first step is to define the positions of the start position and the stop position of strokes of the two words. The second step is to group the start position and the stop position based on a threshold value. The third step is to circle the words based on the grouping result. The final step is to rearrange the two words based on a datum point.
