Abstract: In a control method of establishing a wireless network connection through a modulation tone, a first device broadcasts a connection modulation tone, which provides connection data. The connection data includes a network name, a password and an Internet protocol (IP) address. A second device detects the connection modulation tone and demodulates the connection modulation tone to obtain the connection data. Thus, the second device can connect to a wireless access point according to the connection data. Consequently, the user needs not to set the connection data by himself or herself, and the user only needs to move the second device near the first device to establish the connection in a convenient manner.

  • Patent number: 7786930
Abstract: A global positioning system (GPS) log with low power consumption has an antenna, a GPS module, a power control module, a main control module, a power adjusting unit and a memory. The main control module is connected to the GPS module and the power control module to retrieve the computing results of the GPS module and controls the power control module to periodically provide power to the GPS module according to a predetermined and variable power providing period. The power adjusting unit is connected to the main control module, analyzes the computing results of the GPS module and assists the main control module to adjust the power providing period. Since the main control module automatically adjusts the power providing period, the GPS log does not deplete unnecessary power on the GPS module. Therefore, the power consumption of the GPS log is reduced and the GPS operates longer.

Abstract: A multimedia device that generates media files and a method of playing the media files. Since the multimedia device has a globe positioning system (GPS) receiving unit, the corresponding geographic information is obtained and then the media data and the corresponding geographic information are processed to one media file. Therefore, the playing method uses the geographic information of the media files from the multimedia device to manage and play the media files having same geographic information.

  • Publication number: 20090033688
Abstract: A brightness adjusting device for a light-emitting diode (LED) display panel has at least one photo sensor, a control circuit, a timing controller and a driving circuit. The LED display panel is composed of multiple LEDs being divided into groups according to color. The photo sensor sequentially senses brightness of the groups of LEDs and generates brightness values. The control circuit compares the brightness values to standard brightness values. Based on the compared results, the driving circuit adjusts the brightness of corresponding LEDs.

  • Publication number: 20080106308
Abstract: The power-on reset circuit of the present invention includes a buffer, a delay circuit connected to the buffer and a constant current source circuit connected to the delay circuit. The delay circuit is made up by two capacitors, two resistors, an NMOS transistor and a PMOS transistor. The two capacitors are respectively made up by an NMOS transistor and a PMOS transistor. A current of the constant current source circuit changes along with a voltage variation of a DC power supply to respectively provide two constant voltage reference sources to the corresponding gates of the NMOS transistor and the PMOS transistor of the delay circuit. The NMOS transistor and the PMOS transistor of the constant current source circuit and the NMOS transistor and the PMOS transistor of the delay circuit form a mirroring circuit.

  • Publication number: 20080001933
Abstract: A digital photo frame having auto-adjusting capability to match a picture and a display panel includes a frame body, an input and output interface, a control unit, an image processing unit, and a display panel and a control panel. The control unit determines whether a picture matches with the display panel according to a digital image format of the picture. If the picture matches with the display panel, the picture is direct displayed on the display panel. If the picture mismatches with the display panel, the control unit rotates the picture and then to display the picture on the display panel. Therefore, the picture can be auto-adjusted to match with the display panel.

  • Patent number: 6960938
Abstract: An enhanced CMOS circuit to drive a DC motor is disclosed, in which a CMOS circuit is used to form a driver circuit of the DC motor, replacing a conventional BiCMOS for the part of the driver circuit, which is used in a portable CD player. Two switching stages are each formed by four CMOS transistors connected in series, with one end of the circuit being connected to a positive power supply with a higher voltage and another end connected to ground or negative power supply terminal. The switching stages are able to produce high output voltages, which are applied on the gates of the CMOS transistors in the driver stage to lower the driving impedance of the conduction channel and to produce sufficient output current to drive a DC motor.

  • Patent number: 6812798
Abstract: A quadrature oscillator capable of lowering phase noise and power dissipation is disclosed. The oscillator circuit includes two symmetrical oscillators (11) (12) formed by cross-coupled transistor pairs with positive feedback structure to produce negative resistance, two LC circuits (13) (14) coupled to the above oscillators (11) (12) to produce positive resistance offsetting the negative resistance through the oscillators (11) (12), and two coupling circuits (15) (16) coupled to the oscillators (11) (12) to produce quadrature phase outputs, wherein, the transistor pairs in each coupling circuit (15) are respectively connected to the corresponding transistor pairs in the two oscillators (11) (12), to prevent the operating point of the oscillator transistors from shifting toward the linear region.

  • Patent number: 6771042
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing a smart management of a rechargeable battery provides the basic capabilities to measure the operating parameters of a rechargeable battery including voltage, temperature and current flow, used subsequently to control the flow of charge/discharge current and for determining the operation mode of the rechargeable battery. The control circuit includes a central processing unit to manage the charge/discharge operation and control the current flow; a trickle charger for slow charging; a cutoff switch to turn off the temperature detector; and an economizer switch to reduce power loss during normal charging of the battery. If the operating voltage of the battery is below a predetermined limit, the system automatically switches to a self-cutoff mode. Through a combination of the above control means, battery management for rechargeable batteries can be improved notably.

  • Patent number: 6765514
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing fast data recovery with adaptive pulse code modulation (ADPCM) coding wherein, an ADPCM encoder periodically records the compressional parameters in memory together with regular compressed codes, and an ADPCM decoder retrieves the previously saved compressional parameters when reading the regular data from memory. In case any error occurs in the data compression and decompression processes which would cause a data divergence in the output of the ADPCM decoder, the previously saved compressional parameters can be used to correct the output data, thus enabling fast data recovery in the data outputting process without affecting downstream data in the data stream.
