Abstract: A swivel joint for an articulating arm comprising a section having a bore with an annular groove where the bore is sized for a stud, with another annular groove, of a plate to slide into the bore. A retaining ring seats in the annular grooves to swivelly couple the section with the plate. The arm may be advantageously used in a camera assembly, such as a bullet camera, to point the camera once mounted on a wall or ceiling.
Abstract: An adaptor for installing a camera or lighting fixture includes a housing. The housing includes a wall that define a slot that extends vertically between top and bottom ends of the slot. A spring steel strip is adapted to be received in the slot. The spring steel strip includes first and second sections separated by a sharp bend. A distal end of the first section is adapted to be brought into a first position in the slot. A distal end of the second section has a catch clip thereon adapted to be brought into a second position in the slot which is higher than the first position. The catch clip includes at least two resilient fingers adapted to permit the catch clip to be fitted into the slot when the two resilient fingers are laterally compressed towards each other, and then keep the distal end of the second section connected to the housing once the fingers are released.
Abstract: A video surveillance system having a plurality of aerial camera devices such as cameras on drones operable from a plurality of docking stations. Each station having a dock for receiving, charging, and controlling the aerial camera devices.

Abstract: Wireless communication of information from an access control device to a mobile communications device is disclosed. The mobile communications device is capable of communicating with at least two transmitters. The at least two transmitters include i) a first transmitter located at a first access controlled door that transmits first BLE beacons; and a ii) second transmitter located at a second access controlled door that transmits second BLE beacons. The mobile communications device includes a Bluetooth communication module that is configured to receive a plurality of BLE beacons, including the first BLE beacons and the second BLE beacons, from the at least two transmitters at different locations on a same floor within a premises.
Abstract: A computer-implemented method controls aspects of a surveillance system using gestures and/or voice commands, and comprises: receiving one or both of an operator's skeleton input data and voice input data from a gesture detection camera and a microphone; using a processor, matching one or both of the received skeleton input data with a gesture stored in a database and the received voice input data with a text string stored in the database; matching one or both of the gesture and text string to a corresponding video management program command stored on the database; and transmitting the one or more video management program commands to a video management program of the surveillance system.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for interactively identifying same individuals or objects present in video recordings is disclosed. When a thumbnail in a set of thumbnails is selected, new information is obtained. The new information may be that an individual or object is present in the portion of the video recording associated with the thumbnail. A search can be carried out for the individual or object based on the new information. The search generates new match likelihoods for each of displayed thumbnails within a user interface page. The displayed thumbnails are re-ordered based on the new match likelihoods.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and techniques for tracking and pictorially displaying locations of tracked individuals involve retrieving a location of the tracked individual and pictorially representing the location of the tracked individual on a display. The location can be acquired using a credentials acquisition device to read credentials issued to the tracked individuals. Pictorially representing the location on a display may involve showing one or both of the location and number of the tracked individuals on a map.

Abstract: A system and method for training a computer-implemented object classifier includes detecting a foreground visual object within a sub-region of a scene, determining a background model of the sub-region of the scene, the background model representing the sub-region when any foreground visual object is absent from that sub-region, and training the object classifier by computer-implemented machine learning using the background model of the sub-region as a negative training example.
