Patent number: 10963525Abstract: Systems and methods for automated conversational querying. The system includes a client device associated with a user, content sources including a website and a platform associated with the website. The platform includes a chat bot comprising a machine learning engine, an intent analysis system and a query system. The chat bot generates an interface window overlaid on the website, when the website is displayed on the client device. The chat bot generates an automated conversational dialog with the user via the interface window, and receives user input from the client device via the interface window, responsive to the automated conversational dialog. The intent system identifies an intent from the user input. The query system automatically queries at least one source among the content sources and obtains query results, based on the identified intent. The chat bot displays the query results on the interface window.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2018Date of Patent: March 30, 2021Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventors: Nishant Nishant, Kevin Geoffrey Yapp

Patent number: 8751464Abstract: A version control system integrated within a business intelligence environment includes a version control server configured for network communication with a business intelligence server and a client of a business intelligence network, and a version control repository in communication with the version control server and configured for storage of multiple versions of a definition of an object of the business intelligence environment developed via a browser interface of the client. The browser interface is created in accordance with a first textual instruction set and configured with a save operation to store a current version of the object definition in the metadata repository. The browser interface is configured by the version control server with a second textual instruction set called by the first textual instruction set such that implementation of the save operation stores the current version of the object definition in the version control repository.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2009Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventors: Andrew D. Patent number: 8002231Abstract: A support device includes a support frame, an arm, a first tray, and a second tray. The support frame is configured to rest on a support surface. The arm is coupled to the support frame and configured to rotate between at least a first position and a second position about a central axis substantially parallel to the support surface. The first tray is coupled to the arm and configured to rotate about a first axis substantially parallel to the central axis as the arm rotates between the first and second positions. The second tray is coupled to the arm and configured to rotate about a second axis substantially parallel to the central axis as the arm rotates between the first and second positions.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2008Date of Patent: August 23, 2011Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventors: Donald Lee Tallent, Mark James Paulson

Patent number: 5552797Abstract: A corrugated horn having ridges disposed on the inner surface of the horn, such that the ridges are oriented parallel to the horn axis, is adapted to provide elliptical beams. When the corrugated horn is circular, the elliptical beam is produced by changing the step heights and/or ridge heights around the circumference of the horn, which in turn changes the semi-flare angle, defined as the angle made by the horn axis and a line joining the top surfaces of the ridges. Because corrugated horns constructed according to this invention have ridges oriented parallel to the horn axis, these corrugated horns are readily manufactured using conventional die casting methods or numerical machining techniques.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1994Date of Patent: September 3, 1996Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventor: Scott J. Patent number: 5424137Abstract: A sportsball and medallion holder comprises a first hemisphere and a second hemisphere of similar diameter, each hemisphere having a circular edge in abutment along a parting line to form a hollow sphere. A slot is formed in the sphere on the parting line and extends inwardly from an outer surface through the wall of the sphere. A medallion holder includes a mounting having an outer surface whereon a medallion is fastened, and a plate for engaging the sphere, the plate being connected transversely to the mounting by a first portion having a cross-section that fits in the slot. The sportsball and medallion holder are assembled with the hemispheres forming a sphere and the mounting means for a medallion located outside the sphere with the first portion being retained in the slot. Edges of the hemispheres fit congruently into notches in the plate.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1993Date of Patent: June 13, 1995Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventor: Peter M. Stagl

Patent number: 5356108Abstract: An improved weighted base for a trophy, includes a cup-shaped shell having a platform for supporting portions of the trophy above the base. A cover having a surface for resting on a table, shelf and the like is connected to the shell to define a hollow interior cavity. A fill hole in the cover provides access to the cavity and a funnel extends from the fill hole to provide a flow path into the cavity. A cross section of the flow path in the funnel is larger proximate the funnel outlet end than proximate the fill hole. Hardened filler in the base, which filler was introduced to the cavity in fluid form via the fill hole and funnel, increases the weight of the base. A vent opening connects the cavity with the external environment during filling of the base. Narrowing the funnel near the fill hole reduces loss of filler should the filler fracture in the base.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 1993Date of Patent: October 18, 1994Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventors: Peter M. Patent number: 5322739Abstract: A trophy comprises a riser including a mounting surface on which a lid rests, and spaced apart slots formed in the mounting surface. Resilient locking fingers are molded onto the lid. Each finger has, at its free end, an undercut portion and a sloped surface adjacent the undercut portion. The sloped surface of the finger to engages one of the slots in the mounting surface as the finger enters the slot to urge the locking finger away from the slot edge. The undercut portion engages an inner surface of the riser mounting surface when the locking finger is fully inserted into the slot.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1992Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventor: Peter M. Patent number: 5175723Abstract: The present invention is directed to a compact disc pickup drive mechanism which eliminates any alignment problems between a drive screw, a drive motor and a supporting frame. The drive mechanism comprises a drive screw having one end rotationally secured to a portion of the supporting frame. The drive screw engages a threaded portion of the pickup carriage so that rotation of the drive screw moves the carriage linearly with respect to the frame. The other end of the drive screw is directly coupled to the shaft of the motor. The shaft of the motor is rotatably supported in the frame. The housing of the motor is not directly connected to the frame so that the drive screw will automatically align with respect to the frame.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1990Date of Patent: December 29, 1992Assignee: Avnet, Inc.Inventor: Dwipendra N.
