Patents Assigned to AVR Communications Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6285979
Abstract: Phoneme analysis is carried out in real time by detecting a voiced component in the range of 200 Hz to 1 KHz and simultaneously detecting voiceless components having frequencies greater than about 2.4 KHz and greater than about 3.4 KHz, respectively, to produce respective outputs which are logically combined to produce two-bit logic signals which can be used to control a speech processing device.

  • Patent number: 5557673
Abstract: An auditory assistance apparatus and method for use with a sound signal source which also produces a magnetic field propagated along a magnetic field axis to increase the signal-to-noise ratio with respect to ambient noise. A pair of magnetic pickup coils of substantially the same electrical and magnetic parameters, but of opposite polarity, are located close to the sound signal source and oriented symmetrically with respect to the geometrical axis of the auditory assistance apparatus with the magnetic axes of the pickup coils substantially parallel to each other and substantially perpendicular to the magnetic field axis of the sound signal source and the geometrical axis of the auditory assistance apparatus; and an amplifier which adds and amplifies the outputs of the serially-connected pickup coils and feeds same to an audio transducer for conversion to sound.

  • Patent number: 5289543
Abstract: An FM receiver includes an FM discriminator having a comparator for converting the FM signal to a series of discrete square-wave pulses all of the same amplitude and of a repetition rate varying with the frequency of the FM signals; and an integrator circuit which integrates the series of monopolar square-wave pulses to produce an output signal having an amplitude varying with the repetition rate of the square-wave pulses. Also described are FM stero systems including the above FM discriminator in its audio channels.

  • Patent number: 5014319
Abstract: The described hearing aid includes a frequency analyzer for classifying incoming sounds according to their frequency, and for selecting an appropriate transposition factor (the ratio of the information storage rate to the information retrieval rate) according to the appropriate one of several transposition factors inputted into the hearing aid based on the particular user's hearing characteristics for different frequencies. Also, described is an arrangement for minimizing loss of speech components containing the same frequency information by recirculating such speech components. Further described is an arrangement for reconstructing portions of the speech components according to their classification by the frequency analyzer in order to minimize loss of useful information in the output signal.
