The surface to be coated is cleaned with a solution containing a degreasing agent and coated with a corrosion-inhibiting layer. In order to obtain particularly advantageous conditions, the invention proposes that the surface of a workpiece to be coated be treated with a solution of polyaspartic acid to apply a corrosion-resistant coating.
