  • Patent number: 8119560
Abstract: The invention is a surface coating which will reduce the aldehyde concentration in a room via a aldehyde reactive material contained in the coating. Upon reaction, the aldehyde becomes part of the reactive molecule and, thus, is permanently held within the coating.

  • Patent number: 8025769
Abstract: This invention is an acoustic fiber-based substrate composed primarily of insulation-type spun fibers or blends of such fibers and wheel spun fibers. The fibers are bound with a water-dispersible latex binder, or an agri-binder such as starch in conjunction with cellulose fiber. The insulation-type spun fibers can be first quality virgin, post-industrial waste-stream or post-consumer waste stream fiber. The substrate is wet-formed from a very dilute aqueous dispersion of ingredients onto a mesh forming screen, as on a Fourdrinier paper machine. By virtue of the insulation-type spun fiber dimensions, morphology and orientation: very low density wet-mats can be formed from a sufficiently dilute suspension. With respect to other wet-formed substrates, the invention is much lower in density and more highly porous, and, thus, the substrate is highly absorbing, exhibiting noise reduction coefficients, NRC values of about 0.80 or greater.

  • Patent number: 7997910
Abstract: The invention includes an electrified framework system having a plurality of grid members which form a grid framework. A conductive material is disposed on a surface of at least one of the plurality of grid members as shown throughout the drawings. The system includes connectors which provide low voltage power connections. For example, the connectors bring power from a power supply to the conductive material disposed on the grid framework and/or the connectors provide electrical connections between the conductive material on the grid framework and various devices.

  • Patent number: 7947615
Abstract: An interior building system which includes a curved, acoustical, self-supporting composite panel which differentiates and accents the interior building space, and, at the same time, provides substantial sound absorbing capabilities. The composite panel is composed of two or more layers of non self-supporting soft fiber material and a discontinuous layer of adhesive interposed between each of the soft fiber layers. The system further includes mounting hardware for attaching the panel to the building structure. The mounting hardware has a perforated plate which is embedded in the panel which minimizes the visibility of the hardware, and, at the same time, provides enhanced load bearing capabilities.
