  • Patent number: 9524174
Abstract: A method configures an installation of a control system within an operational environment, where the control system may include distributed physical access control system. The method may provide options for installing peripheral devices compatible with a controller, and receive selections based on the provided options. The selections may be associated with an operational environment of at least one selected peripheral device. The method may generate instructions to command the controller to specify individual pins from a plurality of pins for connecting the controller to at least one selected peripheral device. The method may subsequently create a report to describe connections between the specified individual pins associated with the controller and wires associated with at least one selected peripheral device. An apparatus can implement the method to configure the installation of the control system in its operational environment.

  • Publication number: 20160364863
Abstract: A method calibrates a camera having image sensor having a center position. An image view projected onto the image sensor by a lens is captured. At least one image view boundary of the captured image view is detected. A projection center position corresponding to a center of the projected image view is determined in at least one dimension. Offset between the projection center position and a sensor center position is determined, defined in at least one dimension, corresponding to the center of the image sensor capturing the projected image view. The image sensor is moved in relation to the lens based on the offset in order to arrive at a substantially zero offset in at least one dimension between the center of image sensor and the center of the projected image view.

  • Publication number: 20160360113
Abstract: An image stabilization mechanism for a camera is provided. The mechanism comprises a movement sensor capable of sensing motion of the camera, an element in an optical path of the camera, a ball and a plate acting as a bearing allowing for the element to move in a plane orthogonal to the optical path, an actuator mechanism capable of moving the element in the plane, and a processor configured to control the actuator to move the element as a response to motion of the camera as detected by the movement sensor, thereby stabilizing images from the camera. Furthermore, the processor further is configured to move the element along a secondary motion path so as to distribute wear on the plate created by the ball, and the processor is further capable of compensating for an image shift created by the secondary motion path by other means for shifting the image.

  • Publication number: 20160344942
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for adjusting a digital camera. The invention also relates to a corresponding device and a corresponding computer program. An original image recorded by the camera is received. The original image has an original aspect ratio. A first user input defining a center point of an area of interest within the original image is received. A second user input defining a perimeter for the area of interest of the original image is received. The perimeter for the area of interest has the same aspect ratio as the original aspect ratio. The camera view is adjusted based on the first user input and the second user input to provide a zoomed image of the defined area of interest. The zoomed image is centered on the center point defined by the first user input. Finally, the zoomed image is displayed to the user on a display screen.

  • Publication number: 20160295115
Abstract: In a method for image stabilization a number of operations are performed to stabilize an image and to output a focal length value. The steps include capturing video by means of a video camera with unknown focal length running an image stabilization process operating on an input from a hardware detector detecting the displacement of the camera and on an adjustable focal length value. Inter-image displacement is corrected based on the input from the hardware detector and the adjustable focal length value. By evaluating the displacement and adjusting the focal length value until a satisfactory image stabilization is achieved a value of the focal length may be output.
