Abstract: There is provided a system, including a tag device and a camera arrangement, for following an object marked by the tag device with a camera. The tag device may measure a horizontal plane position and an altitude of the tag device according to different measurement principles, and transmit the measured values to a camera arrangement. The camera arrangement may measure a horizontal plane position and an altitude related to the camera according to different measurement principles. The camera arrangement may then control the pan and tilt settings of the camera based on differences in horizontal plane positions and altitudes between the camera and the tag device such that the camera is oriented in the direction of the tag device.

  • Patent number: 9049347
Abstract: A method and mobile unit facilitate installation of a surveillance camera for monitoring an object of interest in a scene. The surveillance camera acquires a zoomed out image of the scene. The zoomed out image is displayed in a display wherein the zoomed out image has a zoomed out center point. An indicator overlaid on the displayed zoomed out image is displayed in the display, wherein the indicator and the zoomed out center point are displaced in relation to each other by a deviation. The indicator indicates the position of a zoomed in center point of a zoomed in image of the scene. The surveillance camera is directed so that the position of the object of interest and the indicator coincide so that the object of interest is included in a zoomed in image of the scene.

  • Patent number: 8964113
Abstract: A monitoring camera is connected to an external power source. The external power source has an external maximum power level. Image data is being processed in a first processing state. The monitoring camera detects (202) an event and determines (206) a type of the detected event. An amount of energy in an energy accumulator is determined (208) in the monitoring camera. Based on the type of the event and based on the external maximum power level and based on the determined amount of energy in the energy accumulator, a second processing state is determined (210). The second processing state requires a power level that is higher than the external maximum power level. Image data is then processed (212) in the second processing state.
