  • Patent number: 5821640
Abstract: The invention relates to switching apparatus having a pair of input terminals (102, 104) and 2.sup.P pairs of output terminals (106a, 106b). The switch comprises p rows of switches K.sub.i,j with the ith row having 2.sup.i unit switches. It also comprises a control circuit (108) which enables the state of all the switches in a given row to be controlled together, thereby enabling the pair of input terminals to be connected to any pair of output terminals.

  • Patent number: 5817978
Abstract: A splicing device for connecting two electrical cables by forming a splice, each electrical cable including a sheath, a cladding and at least a first primary wire and a second primary wire. The cladding is surrounded by the sheath and surrounds the at least two primary wires. The splicing device includes a first electrical connector for connecting together the first primary wires of the two electric cables, and a second electrical connector for connecting together the second primary wires of the two electric cables. The splicing device further includes a first insulating sheath for covering the first electrical connector of the first primary wires, the first insulating sheath being made of a first material, and a second insulating sheath separated from the first insulating sheath for covering the second electrical connector of the second primary wires, the second insulating sheath being made of the first material.

  • Patent number: 5811977
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for electrically testing an electrical connection harness (10). The apparatus comprises an electrical signal generator (24) and a measuring device (22) which are connected by two switches (26, 28) to branch lines (16) of the harness via "subscriber" cards (30) which simulate the states of the components that are to be connected to the branch lines. A control unit (32, 38) enables the switches (26, 28) and the "subscriber" cards (30) to be controlled to simulate different configurations of the components (sending, receiving, normal load, short circuit, open circuit).

  • Patent number: 5781991
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of implementing a shielded multiconductor cable to the tracks of a printed circuit. The conductors have end portions stripped and positioned. A first strip is put into place. Then each conductor core and a portion of its shielding are stripped. The stripped ends are put into position and then fixed to a second strip that is connected to the first strip by arms. The assembly is then fixed to the printed circuit by soldering the stripped ends to the conductor tracks and by soldering the stripped portions of shielding to the shielding connection track.

  • Patent number: 4806416
Abstract: Insulating coatings are disclosed which include an inner layer of glass fabric impregnated with a binding agent supporting particles of mica, followed by two additional layers, of either polytetrafluoroethylene or glass fabric, which readily adhere to each other. The polytetrafluoroethylene decomposes at temperatures of about 1,000.degree. C., at which temperatures the glass fabric melts to convert the coating into a glass coated mica which can maintain its insulating properties both at those high temperatures and upon cooling to lower temperatures.
