  • Patent number: 11758045
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing emergency communications are provided. A system may receive an emergency communication initiated by an emergency communicator. The system may detect a data field action in response to an emergency receiver entering a data input based on the emergency communication. The system may capture a timestamp of when the data field action occurred. The system may generate a communication snippet based on the action timestamp and a snippet length. The communication snippet may be configured to provide context from the emergency communication to the data input. The system may transmit the communication snippet and the data input to an emergency responder.

  • Patent number: 11707098
Abstract: A coupler for coupling to a provided article of wear comprises a base plate and a clip. The coupler may be configured to provide a mount interface on an article of wear for an accessory to mount to. The base plate may comprise one or more structures configured to engage one or more respective portions of the clip over the provided article of wear. The clip may be shaped to interlock with the structures of the base plate. The clip may engage the base plate in a series of actions. The series of actions may be repeated in reverse to disengage the clip from the base plate. The series of actions for disengaging the clip from the base plate may reduce a likelihood of the clip in being unintentionally decoupled from the base plate, thereby increasing a likelihood that the coupler remains coupled to an article of wear.

  • Patent number: 11686558
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) launches wire-tethered electrodes from one or more cartridges to provide a current through a human or animal target to impede locomotion of the target. The CEW may detect when the electrodes launched from the cartridges may provide the current through more than one target. The CEW may detect when electrodes launched from the cartridges may provide the current through the same target. The CEW may set the pulse rate of the current based on detecting the launch of electrodes from one or more cartridges, detecting that electrodes may provide the current through two or more targets, and/or detecting that two or more pairs of electrodes may deliver the current through the same target.

  • Patent number: 11682219
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for capturing images of one or more moving vehicles (i.e., a target vehicle) from another moving vehicle (i.e., subject vehicle). The disclosed system dynamically adjusts illumination power, exposure times, and/or other settings to optimize image capture that takes into account distance and speed. By optimizing for distances and moving vehicles, the disclosed system improves the probability of capturing a legible, usable photographic image. In one example, the disclosed system may be incorporated into an asymmetric license plate reading (ALPR) system.

  • Patent number: 11668548
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”) impedes locomotion of a human target by providing a stimulus signal through the target via one or more electrodes. A propulsion system provides a force that launches the one or more electrodes toward the target to deliver the stimulus signal. The electrodes may be mechanically and electrically coupled to a deployment unit by a filament. An electrode may cooperate with a winding machine to wind the filament into a winding. The winding may be positioned inside the body of the electrode for deployment during launch.

  • Patent number: 11665758
Abstract: Police officers and others carry multiple electronic devices with the ability to communicate between each other and with remote devices. Unintentional communications may occur between the devices carried by other police officers, for example, which may cause a device carried by one officer to be controlled by a device carried by a different officer. A method of dynamic pairing between electronic devices, based on the time and proximity of the devices, reduces the possibility for unintentional communications.

  • Patent number: 11662188
Abstract: A system for a practice electrode (e.g. dart) for a conducted electrical weapon (“CEW”). An officer issued a CEW is required to practice with the CEW in order to maximize its safe and effective use in a stressful situation. Preferably, training is performed using equipment as similar as possible to the equipment an officer uses in the field. Training with a CEW against a live target may be improved, at least from the perspective of the target, by using a practice dart that is similar in weight and flight to a conventional electrode, but that does not pierce target clothing or tissue or deliver a high voltage current through the target. A practice dart may be similar to a conventional electrode but include additional structure (e.g. cap) that prevents piercing. The additional structure and/or a non-conductive filament may reduce a likelihood of or preclude delivery a current through the target.

  • Patent number: 11639841
Abstract: A detector for detecting the removal and/or insertion of a firearm out of and/or into a holster. The detector may transmit a message each time the firearm is removed from the holster. A recording system may receive the message and determine whether or not it will begin recording the data it captures. A detector may detect the change in a magnitude of an inductance and/or an impedance of a circuit to detect insertion and removal of the firearm into and out of the holster. The holster is configured to couple to the detector to position the detector to detect insertion and removal of the firearm. An adhesive tape may couple a detector to a holster.

  • Patent number: 11640824
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods transcribe words recorded in audio data. A computer-generated transcript is provided. The transcript comprises records for each word in the computer-generated transcript. At least one confirmation input is received for each record. The at least one confirmation input modifies a selected record and automatically identifies a next record for receiving a next confirmation input. A sequence of confirmation inputs may rapidly modify and validate each record in a sequence of records in the computer-generated transcript. A validated transcript is generated from the modified records and is provided from an evidence management system.

  • Patent number: 11636562
Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and systems for processing recorded data for storage is provided. An auditable device, such as a digital video camera, stores a set of recorded data. The auditable device also stores auditable event entries that represent auditable events detected by the auditable device. One type of auditable event is the receipt of information from a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system that indicates an event. The auditable device marks at least one subset of the set of recorded data based on the auditable event entries, and uploads the marked at least one subset of the set of recorded data to an evidence management system.

  • Patent number: 11632539
Abstract: A system for determining a person's field of view with respect to captured data (e.g., recorded audiovisual data). A multi-camera capture system (e.g. bodycam, vehicular camera, stereoscopic, 360-degree captures system) records audiovisual data of an event. The field of capture of a capture system or a field of capture of captured data combined from multiple capture systems may be greater than the field of view of a person. Facial features (e.g. eyes, ears, nose, and jawlines) of the person may be detected from the captured data. Facial features may be used to determine the field of view of the person with respect to the captured data. Sensors that detect head orientation may be used to determine the field of view of the person with respect to captured data. The field of view of the person may be shown with respect to the captured data when the captured data is played back.

  • Patent number: 11624590
Abstract: A conducted electrical weapon may deploy a single electrode. The single electrode may be deployed in response to a first activation signal of a sequence of activation signals. The conducted electrical weapon may deploy a second electrode in response to a second activation signal of the sequence of activation signals. A signal generator of the conducted electrical weapon may provide a stimulus signal between the single electrode and the second electrode. Deploying the single electrode may include deploying fewer electrodes than a minimum number required by the conducted electrical weapon to provide the stimulus signal at a remote location.
