Abstract: A universal handrail support bracket is disclosed in which a bracket is configured to be mounted to a handrail or banister and the bracket has an annular ring attached thereto. The annular ring has a concave interior surface and a convex exterior surface. A curved nut and a cap have surfaces which mate with respectively the inner and outer surfaces of the annular ring. The curved nut and the cap are positioned respectively inside and upon the annular ring such that they may both freely rotate and pivot. A fastener such as a screw passes through both the curved nut and the cap and into a fixed substantially vertical surface such that the bracket may be attached to the fixed substantially vertical surface at any desired pitch angle, yaw angle, and roll angle for attaching a rail to a vertical surface.

Abstract: A decorative lighting system has a light holding assembly, a base section member, and a top section member on the base section member. The light holding assembly has an elongated tubular body having a cavity defined therein, a flange extending from the elongated tubular body, and a plurality of lights within the elongated tubular body. At least a portion of the elongated tubular body is made of a material that allows light to pass through that portion. In addition, at least a portion of the flange is between the base section member and the top section member such that the light holding assembly is held between the base section member and the top section member.

Abstract: A rail system has a baluster swing bracket configured to attach a baluster to the underside of a railing. This bracket has a flat body attached to the baluster and a flange offset from the flat body and attached to the railing, creating a gap between the railing and the baluster. This gap enables the baluster to be positioned close to the vertical surface to which the end of the railing is attached because a portion of the fastener connecting the railing to the vertical surface may be within the gap. The flange may be loosened or disconnected from the railing without removing the baluster swing bracket from the baluster. Disconnecting the flange allows the baluster to rotate or swing under the railing. Loosening the flange allows the baluster to rotate outward from the railing.

Abstract: An interlocking decorative trim system has a backing strip and a cover strip interlocked together. The backing strip has a top, a bottom, a back face, a front face, a tongue extending from the top, and a projection adjacent the bottom and extending away from the front face. The front face has a recess and the projection has a slot. The cover strip has a top, a bottom, a front face, a back face, a tab extending from the bottom, and a second projection adjacent the top and extending away from the front face. The back face has a recess and the second projection has a groove. The tongue of the backing strip fits inside the groove of the cover strip and the tab of the cover strip fits into the slot of the backing strip.

Abstract: A water barrier trim has a base, a top flange, and an overhang section. The base has at least one ridge extending away from the base in a first direction and a projection extending in the first direction. The top flange section is positionable adjacent to the base. The overhang section is positionable adjacent to the base and defines a drip cap. The at least one ridge is sized and configured to rest on a top of a trim board. The projection is sized and configured to fit into a slot defined in the top of the trim board to provide an interference connection.

Abstract: A method and machine for sealing at least one cut edge of a foam board is disclosed. The foam board has a top surface, a bottom surface and at least one cut edge extending between the top surface and the bottom surface. The cut edge is passed over a heated roller to soften the edge and then passed over a second roller having a temperature that is lower than the temperature of the first roller which seals the edge. The cut edge may be milled to square the edge relative to the top and bottom of the board before the cut edge is passed over the heated roller. Additional pairs of rollers may be provided to seal the top surface and the bottom surface of the foam board.

Abstract: A deck storage bin system has a hatch, a deck frame assembly that has an outer lip and an inner lip, a storage tub having a bottom surface, and at least one inner support. The hatch is moveable between the closed position and an open position. The outer lip of the deck frame is configured to engage a perimeter of a predefined aperture in a floor surface of a deck such that a portion of the deck frame assembly extends into the predefined aperture. The inner lip defines an opening and the inner lip is sized and configured to support the hatch when the hatch is in a closed position. The storage tub extends below the opening defined by the inner lip of the deck frame and is attached to the at least one inner support.

Abstract: An adjustable gate has a gate panel, a pivoting plate attached to the gate panel, a mounting plate, and a pivot pin. The pivoting plate and the mounting plate each have a base and two parallel sides attached to the base and each of the parallel sides have a triangular shape and one side is substantially similar in shape to the other side. Each triangular shaped side has an apex and a pivot pin hole near the apex. The pivot pin passes through the pivot pin holes in the side of the pivoting plate and the sides of the mounting plate and connects the pivoting plate to the mounting plate.

Abstract: A kit for a planter is disclosed that has a polygon shape and has a selected number of sides and a same selected number of corners. The kit includes a selected number of bottom corner brackets, a selected number of corner beads, a selected number of top corner brackets, a selected number of top frame corner brackets, and a selected number of pairs of spacer runners that each correspond to the selected number of corners. The kit also includes a planter tub sized to fit within a planter body. The brackets and spacer runners are configured to be connected together to form a skeleton to which boards can be attached to form the planter body.

The projection is formed to fit into a slot defined in the top of the base board to provide an interference connection.
