The aperture of the container assembly being capable of providing access to the interior of the receptacle housing and the aperture closure means having a shape such that it can be removed from the container assembly, inverted and inserted into the elongated neck portion via the aperture such that infectious waste contained within the receptacle housing cannot escape through the aperture.
