    Abstract: A furniture tipping restraint for use in helping to prevent furniture such as chests of drawers, bookcase shelves, television carts, etc., from tipping over and away from a building wall. The furniture tipping restraint includes a first anchor which is attached to the wall whereagainst the furniture is located and a second anchor which is attached to the back wall of the furniture. A restraint strap extends through holes in both of the anchors and includes a clamping aperture at one end thereof for receiving the other end of the restraint strap for forming a loop and thereby tying together the anchors and effectively restraining the furniture from tipping away from the wall. In another embodiment, a restraint strap includes a securement portion for attachment directly to either a wall or the furniture. An attachment clamp also includes a securement portion and is attached directly to either the wall or the furniture.

    Abstract: A latch mechanism for furniture parts such as extension tables and leaves. The mechanism aligns the furniture parts horizontally and vertically and is selectively lockable for preventing disengagement. A strike member including a pair of fingers is attachable to one of the furniture parts. A lock member is attachable to the other furniture part and forms a pair of apertures between the lock member and furniture part. The strike member fingers are received within the respective lock member apertures and a lock mechanism selectively detachably attaches the strike member and lock member together.

    Abstract: A leaf support for selectively supporting and placing drop leaves of tables and wall mounts in an in use position or a storage position. The leaf support includes a pair of channel-shaped arms pivotally connected at one end about an arms pivot axis. The other ends of the arms are adapted for pivotal attachment to a drop leaf or frame to which the drop leaf is connected. A helical spring is located within the channel-shaped arms and connected to the two arms at its ends thereof. A ring and cover member including a U-shaped member having a base portion and two legs attached thereto and a ring connected to the base portion is provided. The two arms near their pivotal connection are received within and between the two legs and the legs are pivotally connected to the arms so as to pivot about the arms pivot axis.
