Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for measuring the dryness of primer on a substrate in an inline priming system. In implementations, the apparatus comprises a plurality of measurement electrodes spaced laterally to extend across and contact a primed surface of a substrate following application of a primer to the substrate as it is fed through the inline priming system. A resistance measurement unit is provided as part of the dryness measuring apparatus to, in use, measure the surface resistance of the primed substrate between different measurement electrodes across the primed surface of a substrate. A controller is provided in the dryness measurement apparatus, the controller arranged to, in use: receive the measured surface resistance value and to generate, based on the measured surface resistance values, a dryness profile indicative of the dryness of the primer at locations across the substrate in the direction of the spacing of the electrodes.

Abstract: A method for improving a lithographic process for imaging a portion of a design layout onto a substrate using a lithographic projection apparatus, the method including: calculating a discrete pupil profile based on a desired pupil profile; selecting a discrete change to the discrete pupil profile; and applying the selected discrete change to the discrete pupil profile. The methods according to various embodiments disclosed herein may reduce the computational cost of discrete optimization from O(an) to O(n) wherein a is constant and n is the number of knobs that can generate discrete change in the pupil profile.
Abstract: The present invention relates nucleic acid constructs for the production of recombinant parvoviral (e.g. adeno-associated viral) vectors in insect cells, to insect cells comprising such constructs and to methods wherein the cells are used to produce recombinant parvoviral virions. The insect cells preferably comprise a first nucleotide sequence encoding the parvoviral rep proteins whereby the initiation codon for translation of the parvoviral Rep78 protein is a suboptimal initiation codon that effects partial exon skipping upon expression in insect cells. The insect cell further comprises a second nucleotide sequence comprising at least one parvoviral (AAV) inverted terminal repeat (ITR) nucleotide sequence and a third nucleotide sequence comprising a sequences coding for the parvoviral capsid proteins.

Abstract: A 3D printer and a method implemented therein for limiting inherent material accretion which may result during the 3D printing and which results in deformations relative to a desired form for printing. Two mechanisms are disclosed for this purpose. For example, on the basis of a provided model one mechanism includes compensating the model for inherent accretion and generating layers for printing for the 3D printer on the basis of the compensated model. Another mechanism includes generating layers for printing for the 3D printer on the basis of the model and compensating the layers for printing for inherent accretion.

Abstract: In certain examples, a liquid electrophotographic printer has a compressive element. The compressive element removes a portion of carrier liquid from an inked image on an imaging element. The compressive element is selectively engageable and a controller disengages the compressive element for a first layer of liquid toner so as to retain carrier liquid in the first layer, and engages the compressive element for a subsequent layer of liquid toner so as to remove a portion of carrier liquid from the subsequent layer.
Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to selectively utilize one or more networks in order to reliably communicate the information regarding one or more traffic signals and one or more intersections controlled by respective traffic signals. In the context of a method, the method includes communicating with a first network in order to receive information with a mobile platform regarding one or more traffic signals and information regarding one or more intersections. At least one traffic signal is associated with a respective intersection. The method also includes identifying a first switching condition and communicating with a second network, different than the first network, in order to receive the information regarding the one or more traffic signals and the information regarding the one or more intersections following identification of the first switching condition.

The IMS has a plurality of apertures that transmits at least one sub-beam and may be arranged in multiple illumination positions corresponding to illumination modes. A pixel array of the reflective SLM and reflects a portion of the sub-beam transmitted by the IMS back to the IMS and PBS. The PBS, IMS, SLM collectively generates a complex amplitude or intensity spatial profile of the transmitted sub-beam.
Abstract: Systems and methods provide guidance for selection of projection perspectives to utilize to obtain complementary combinations of projection images of an object. The systems and methods provide a bi-dimensional first image of the object which has been obtained from a first perspective. A map of values associated with different candidate perspectives relative to the first perspective is determined, wherein the value associated with a given candidate perspective is determined from at least one parameter indicative of a degree to which the given candidate perspective complements the first perspective and at least one weighting parameter. The map can be displayed or evaluated to select at least one candidate perspective to utilize to acquire or obtain a combination of complementary projection images.
