Abstract: An attachment assembly for attaching a fluid container to a fluid warmer of a system for extracorporeal blood treatment is disclosed. The assembly includes a hook-shaped fixture located on the fluid warmer, a pin-shaped fixture located on the fluid warmer, and receiving members located on the fluid container to receive the hook-shaped fixture and the pin shaped fixture located on the fluid warmer. A fluid warmer containing a hook-shaped fixture located on the fluid warmer and a pin-shaped fixture located on the fluid warmer of a fluid bag attachment assembly is also disclosed. Tubing guides present on the fluid warmer in conjunction with tubes of differing lengths attached to the fluid bag reduce the occurrence of usage errors during insertion of the fluid bag into the fluid warmer.

Abstract: A water-swellable linear polyurethane polymer is formed by reacting a polyethylene oxide (e.g. PEG 4000 to 35,000), a difunctional compound (e.g. a diamine or diol such as 1,10-decanediol) with a diisocyanate. The ratio of the three components is generally in the range 0.1-1.5 to 1 to 1.1-2.5. The polyurethane is water-swellable in the range 300 to 1700% and soluble in certain organic solvents such as dichloromethane. It can be loaded with pharmaceutically active agents, particularly of high molecular weight, to produce controlled release compositions, such as pessaries etc.

The lip shroud comprises of a first sidewall having a first abutment surface provided with an opening; a second sidewall having a second abutment surface wherein the second sidewall has a securing portion configured for coupling to a lock device on the dragline lip; and a center wall having a third abutment surface, the center wall connecting the first sidewall and the second sidewall wherein the first, second and third abutment surfaces define a channel to receive an edge portion of the dragline lip.

Abstract: The current invention concerns a method and device for securing cargo load in a container. In an embodiment of the current invention, such method comprises: providing a wall securement device comprising two or more apertures allowing the passage of securing means such as straps, which wall securement device is attached to an inner rigid structure of the wall; and lashing the cargo load with securing means by use of the wall securement device, whereby the wall securement device is located at the corner post of said container. In a second aspect, the current invention provides for a wall securement device for securing loads, wherein the securement device may include a slope-hook edge portion.

Abstract: A radio-frequency identification (RFID) transponder device is disclosed. The RFID transponder device includes an antenna component for inductive communication with at least one basestation transceiver device and an interface component coupled to the antenna component. The interface component includes a demodulation component arranged to perform demodulation of a signal at the antenna component for basestation-to-transponder communication and a modulation component arranged to perform modulation of the signal at the antenna component for transponder-to-basestation communication. The interface component is arranged to operate in at least a charge and talk mode of operation, and during the charge and talk mode of operation the modulation component is arranged to perform binary phase-shift keying, BPSK, modulation of the signal at the antenna component for the transponder-to-basestation communication. A RFID basestation transceiver device is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for weather station data usage based on weather data confidence. In the context of a method, the method includes receiving historical weather data associated with a candidate weather station and plurality of weather stations, determining distances between a candidate weather station and respective ones of the plurality of weather stations, and generating a station to station location based model of weather attribute errors associated with the distances between the candidate weather station and the respective weather stations of the plurality of weather stations.

Abstract: Centrifuges are useful to, among other things, remove red blood cells from whole blood and retain platelets and other factors in a reduced volume of plasma. Platelet rich plasma (PRP) and or platelet poor plasma (PPP) can be obtained rapidly and is ready for immediate injection into the host. Embodiments may include valves, operated manually or automatically, to open ports that discharge the excess red blood cells and the excess plasma into separate receivers while retaining the platelets and other factors in the centrifuge chamber. High speeds used allow simple and small embodiments to be used at the patient's side during surgical procedures. The embodiments can also be used for the separation of liquids or slurries in other fields such as, for example, the separation of pigments or lubricants.

Abstract: Hybrid dendrite copolymer compositions include a hybrid dendrite copolymer including at least one ethylenically unsaturated first monomer, at least one second ethylenically unsaturated second monomer and a naturally derived hydroxyl containing chain transfer agent as an end group. The at least one first and second ethylenically unsaturated monomers are on separate side chains of the naturally derived hydroxyl containing chain transfer agent. Methods of preparing a hybrid dendrite copolymer are also included.

Abstract: A rotary latch assembly for a galley cart compartment door is disclosed comprising a barrel member rotating on a spindle and a handle connected to the barrel member. An interfering block outside the barrel member can prevent rotation of the barrel member when engaged with the barrel member, and be displaced by a lock button diametrically opposed with the interfering block. The handle of the rotary latch bears against the door in a locked position to prevent the door from opening, and the button when depressed releases the barrel member to rotate and the handle to pivot out of the path of the door.

The method, system and apparatus include a toric intraocular element for correcting astigmatism and having a cylinder power, and a depth of focus extender coupled to the toric intraocular element, the depth of focus extender extending a depth of focus. The extended depth of focus may reduce sensitivity of the toric intraocular element to at least one of rotation and selected cylinder power.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus (1) for powering an electrical consumer (3, 4, 5) via a data connection (6, 7, 8). The apparatus comprises a power supply (2) for supplying power to the electrical consumer via the data connection, a data receiving unit (9) for receiving data to be sent to the electrical consumer, and a controller (10) for activating the supply of power to the electrical consumer via the data connection, if data to be sent to the electrical consumer have been received and the supply of power to the electrical consumer is deactivated. The electrical consumer itself does therefore not need to receive power from the apparatus, in order to stay alert to be able to react on data connection activity, thereby reducing the power consumption.
