Patent number: 9949325Abstract: Bleeder circuits (1) comprise detection circuits (11) for detecting values of amplitudes of feeding currents for feeding light emitting diode circuits (2) and comprise introduction circuits (12) for introducing bleeder currents. Values of amplitudes of bleeder currents are defined in response to detection results from the detection circuits (11). As a result, disadvantageous connections between the bleeder circuits (1) and dimmers (4) are avoided, and the bleeder circuits (1) can be located near the light emitting diode circuits (2) and they can use the same heat sink. The detection circuit (11) may comprise a first resistor circuit (31), and the introduction circuit (12) may comprise a first transistor circuit (41). The detection circuit (11) may further comprise a second resistor circuit (32) for coupling the first transistor circuit (41) to the first resistor circuit (31) and may comprise an operational amplifier (51) or a second transistor circuit (42) for controlling the first transistor circuit (41).Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2014Date of Patent: April 17, 2018Assignee: PHILIPS LIGHTING HOLDING B.V.Inventors: Paul Theorodus Jacobus Boonen, Bertrand Johan Edward Hontele

Publication number: 20180101826Abstract: A signal is received at a monitoring device from a photodetector. The signal conveys a characteristic of radiation received by the photodetector from an exit piece of a luminaire, through which exit piece light emitted by the luminaire exits the luminaire. Based on the characteristic, the monitoring device is used to determine a dirt level on the exit piece. A geographic location associated with the luminaire is identified based on a geographic proximity of the geographic location to the luminaire. In response to an increase in the determined dirt level, the monitoring device generates a control signal which causes an object at the geographic location that is separate from the luminaire to be cleaned.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2016Publication date: April 12, 2018Applicant: PHILIPS LIGHTING HOLDING B.V.Inventors: MARTIJN MARIUS HULTERMANS, EDITH DANIELLE DEN HARTOG, MAURICE ALEXANDER HUGO DONNERS, OSCAR HENDRIKUS WILLEMSEN

Publication number: 20180099926Abstract: Disclosed is an integrated process for the production of urea and melamine, as well as a system for carrying out the process. The invention thereby pertains to an integrated process of the type wherein off-gas obtained from the production of melamine is entered into the process for the production of melamine, by condensation in the presence of water. A typical embodiment thereof is the condensation in the presence of an aqueous carbamate solution obtained from urea recovery. In accordance with the invention, said condensation takes place at a substantially lower pressure than the pressure at which the melamine off-gas is obtained. To this end, the pressure of the off-gas is reduced typically by 2-10 bar. In connection herewith, the system of the invention comprises a pressure reducing unit downstream of an outlet for the melamine off-gas, and upstream of a section for the condensation of the off-gas.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 25, 2016Publication date: April 12, 2018Applicant: Stamicarbon B.V.Inventor: Johannes Henricus MENNEN

Publication number: 20180099500Abstract: A method is provided for actuating an liquid discharge element in an array of discharge elements of a print head. The liquid is provided to the elements of the array through a channel in the print head. A discharge element is provided with a driving signal from a set of signals comprising a discharging signal, a non-discharging signal, and a null signal. Only the first signal generates a drop of liquid, the second and third do not. An amount of discharging signals supplied to the print head is determined in accordance with a required number of droplets. A ratio of non-discharging signals versus null signals for the elements that do not discharge a drop of liquid increases with increasing amount of discharging signals. The elements receiving an non-discharge signal are selected randomly from the elements not discharging a drop of liquid. This extends the time that the print head may be operated without maintenance.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 3, 2017Publication date: April 12, 2018Applicant: Océ Holding B.V.Inventors: Daniël H.A.
