Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a cable saver device that can be selectively engaged with one or more cables of a crossbow, which may mitigate premature cable wear, and/or provide smoother cable movement during bowstring draw and/or release. A device for mitigating premature cable wear can comprise a selectively removable crossbow cable saver, which can install on one or more cables of a crossbow. The crossbow cable saver can comprise a selectively closable top configured to enclose a top portion of one or more cable saver guides disposed in a bottom portion of said cable saver, when the top portion is closed over the bottom portion.

Abstract: The invention is directed to the use of a wetting agent having a boiling point higher than 100° C. and a viscosity lower than 500 mPa.s, wherein the wetting agent comprises water in an amount between 0 and 4.9 wt % based on the total weight of the wetting agent, for the lubrication of a hydrophilic polymer coating. The invention further relates to a medical device comprising a hydrophilic polymer coating that is wetted by a wetting agent, a method for the preparation of a medical device and a package comprising a medical device.

Abstract: A method for converting a full color image to a monochrome image is provided, wherein the color values of pixels are decomposed in a luminance and a chrominance component. Both components are converted to a grayscale value representing an intensity of a pixel. The luminance grayscale value is in a limited range close to a light end of the available grayscale. The chrominance grayscale value is closer to the dark end of the available grayscale when the chrominance component of the color value is larger. The darkest value of the two converted values is selected for a corresponding pixel. The effect of this conversion is that colored pixels are darker than colorless pixels, which is useful to highlight parts of a monochrome image that stand out because of their color in a full color image. It is particularly useful to help color blind people recognize colored parts of an image.

Abstract: A drilling vessel or drilling platform comprising: a hull with a moonpool; and a hydraulic riser tensioner system configured to apply a tension force from the drilling vessel or drilling platform upon a riser string, the riser tensioner system comprising: a riser ring, wherein the riser tensioner system is fastened to the riser string via the riser ring; a set of sheaves provided at each lateral side of the moonpool; a plurality of cables configured to extend between the drilling vessel or drilling platform to the riser ring via the sheaves; and a set of hydraulic cylinders actuating upon the sheaves and thereby applying the tension force to the cables, wherein the hydraulic cylinders are arranged substantially horizontally at the lateral sides of the moonpool.

Abstract: Compositions including a blend of a) a polysulfone (PSU); b) a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS); and, c) a polyetherimide and epoxy. The polyetherimide and epoxy can be present in an amount effective to act as a compatibilizer for the polysulfone (PSU) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). Various embodiments relate to a method of compatibilizing a blend of polysulfone (PSU) and polyphenylene sulfide (PPS). The method can include a) melt mixing a polysulfone (PSU) and a polyetherimide; and b) melt mixing a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and an epoxy. Step a) and b) can be carried out by one of sequential mixing and simultaneous mixing.

The firearm cleaning kit includes a tool-holding insert secured to an interior region of the case, corresponding to the location of the spine. Abstract: A wireless charging apparatus and method utilizing a secure element is disclosed. Illustratively, a receiver containing a secure element securely communicates with a charging pad also equipped with a secure element. The communication can be used to establish the identity of the receiver and facilitate billing for the wireless charging. The charging pad may further communicate in a secure manner with a server to authenticate the identity and other information about the receiver before providing wireless charging. Direct communication between the receiver and server is also contemplated.

Abstract: A server system and a mobile device establish a push data framework for communication. The mobile device includes a push client, and runs one or more applications requiring push data communications. The push client transmits a device authentication and application validation request to a push server. Upon the push server successfully authenticating and validating the device and application, the push client receives a session identifier for establishing a persistent communication connection with the push server. Once established, an application server can push data to the mobile device via the persistent communication session. The session identifier remains valid for an extended period of time, and allows the push client to maintain and re-establish push connections with the push server for the duration of the extended period of time.

The first cutter is engaged with the rotating member such that the rotation of the rotating member translates into rotation of the first cutter, wherein the first cutter rotates about an axis that is generally parallel to a natural surface of the bone.

Abstract: A phase-frequency detector (PFD) circuit is disclosed. The PFD circuit includes a PFD portion adapted to detect frequency and phase difference of two input signals and to generate control signals according to the detected frequency and phase difference and a delay and reset portion adapted to delay the generated control signals, to generate reset signals for resetting the PFD portion based on a combination of the control signals and the delayed control signals, and to provide the generated reset signals to the PFD portion.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatus are provided for determining overlay of a pattern on a substrate with a mask pattern defined in a resist layer on top of the pattern on the substrate. A first grating is provided under a second grating, each having substantially identical pitch to the other, together forming a composite grating. A first illumination beam is provided under an angle of incidence along a first horizontal direction. The intensity of a diffracted beam from the composite grating is measured. A second illumination beam is provided under the angle of incidence along a second horizontal direction. The second horizontal direction is opposite to the first horizontal direction. The intensity of the diffracted beam from the composite grating is measured. The difference between the diffracted beam from the first illumination beam and the diffracted beam from the second illumination beam, linearly scaled, results in the overlay error.
