The marine vessel includes a deck having a plurality of seismic sensor devices stored thereon, two remotely operated vehicles, each comprising a seismic sensor storage compartment, and a seismic sensor transfer device comprising a container for transfer of one or more of the seismic sensor devices from the vessel to the sensor storage compartment of at least one of the two remotely operated vehicles.

Abstract: An apparatus for misalignment compensation in optical joysticks is described. The optical joystick includes a light source, a plurality of photodetectors, and circuitry for controlling operation of the optical joystick. In some embodiments, each of the photodetectors may partitioned into a plurality of photodetector elements and select photodetector elements are configured to be individually activated in order to cause an electrical shifting of the selected photodetector elements to achieve a different operational alignment position of optical components of the optical joystick. In some embodiments, the light source may be similarly be calibrated by individually activating portions of a light-source array to cause an electrical shift. Various other embodiments and methods of operation are also described.

Abstract: An arbitration mechanism provides quality of service guarantees for time-sensitive signals sharing a local area computer network with non-time-sensitive traffic. Device adapters are placed at all access points to an Ethernet network. The device adapters limit admission rates and control the timing of all packets entering the network. By doing so, collisions are eliminated for timesensitive traffic, thereby guaranteeing timely delivery. A common time reference is established for the device adapters. The time reference includes a frame with a plurality of phases. Each of the phases is assigned to a device adapter. Each device adapter is allowed to transmit packets of data onto the network only during the phase assigned thereto. The length of the phases may be modified in accordance with the number of packets to be transmitted by a particular device adapter. A master device adapter may be appointed to synchronize each of the device adapters.

The fruits of the cucumber plant have an improved shelf life as compared to the fruits of a control plant that have a normal shelf life, and the plant producing these fruits is obtainable by crossing a cucumber plant with a plant grown from seeds of cucumber EX5003 representative seeds of which were deposited with the NCIMB under NCIMB accession number 41716 and selecting in the F1 progeny of the cross for plants showing an improved shelf life. The invention further relates to progeny and seeds of the plant, to the fruits and to propagation material.

A target structure is produced using a layout and a manufacturing process. The target structure is illuminated and an electromagnetic scattering property is detected. A manufacturing process model for simulation of the manufacturing process is produced, which comprises at least one manufacturing process parameter determining a model electromagnetic scattering property using the manufacturing process model and the layout. The model electromagnetic scattering property is compared to the detected electromagnetic scattering property and based on the result of the comparison, calibrated manufacturing process parameters are output for calibrating the manufacturing process model.

Abstract: Disclosed is a temperature sensor (200) comprising a p-n junction device (110), a current device (120, 130) adapted to provide a sequence of different currents to the p-n junction device, a measurement circuit adapted to measure the voltage characteristics of the p-n junction device as a function of said sequence, and a processor adapted to determine the minimum value of the voltage swing from said characteristics and to convert said minimum value to a temperature value. A method of measuring a temperature using such a device is also disclosed.
